The Flood / Re: Cluster bombs in Syria
« on: February 16, 2016, 02:32:53 PM »
I don't quite understand...

Chemical weapons and everyone goes in uproar, Syria agrees to take them away. But a greenlight for clusterbombs?
The chemical weapons weren't Assad's. The evidence was faulty, and IIRC it was actually an opposition group using them.

I'm not saying Assad dindu nuffin but a lot of his vilification is bullshit. At worst SAA the second-most benevolent faction in the region after the Iraqi Kurds (Syrian and Turkish Kurds are commie shits).

Why should marriage be incentivized?

If anything, I think LESS importance should be put on it
I know tearing down any institution that even smells of tradition gets progressives soaking wet, but marriage has survived this long for a reason.

Yeah, and car accidents should never happen and we should only have sexual attraction to our partners, no cheating never.

Phenomena don't just cease because you object to them. Nobody thinks it should play a role in their decision making, but it does. It even plays a role in yours, whether you want it to or not.

This demonstrates 2 things.

A) Profit-oriented organizations can produce the best research and technology, hands down.

B) Misinformation is everywhere. Don't trust anyone.

I'm not against gun ownership if the weapons are actually owned by responsible civilians. Unfortunately that's not the case.
I'm not against car ownership if the cars are actually owned by responsible drivers. Unfortunately that's not the case.

Dealing with the worst of the worst every day does something to your mind. Cops are just regular people.
Cops have a job- to protect the populace. If the people have to adjust their lifestyle to the whims of the police, the problem is with the police.

Police officers having fast cars isn't the issue, it's civilians having fast cars.
Except were talking about guns, not cars.

You can't expect cops to not shoot first and ask last when they have to patrol war zones. Grow up man.
If you could get over the retarded "OMG it's made to kill muh feels" shit, you'd be able to see very clearly that civilian armament plays a similar role to tobacco use and car culture in first world countries like the US, and serves as a line of defense in places like Lebanon.

If a cop is going to be on edge all day and shoot some fucking kid because he's worried about encountering a gun owner, he should probably shouldn't be a cop.
I'm not against owning guns, but it's out of fucking control in America.
I'm not against driving fast cars, but accidents are out of control in America.

You don't know what it's like to patrol gang controlled neighborhoods all the time. They'll shoot the police, they don't care. That puts you on edge whether you like it or not.
Sure, there are a lot of racist and corrupt cops. But there's also a lot stacked up against them. Cops can get shot giving a speeding ticket in America.
Perhaps people not up to the task shouldn't try to join the fucking Chiraq police department, then.

And don't use the word civilian to differentiate between police officers and human beings, please.

Police are just as much civilians as any other asshole. You only cease being a civilian while you are in the military.

Please stop feeding into the pigs' unwarranted sense of worth.

This doesn't belong in Serious; literally just beauty salon gossip. Who cares if he's ugly, it's a non-issue.
This actually fits perfectly into Serious. Nobody votes in a vacuum, and I, for one, am fascinated by the way a politician's outward appearance can impact public perception and elections.

I wouldn't want you in charge of any of the United States' missiles.
Missile security doesn't manage the missiles. They just arrest or shoot anybody trying to fuck with them.

Was thinking about finishing up a degree (not sure in what yet but I'm already a semester in), then possibly joining the military?

Still not sure what I'd want to do in that context but it does seem interesting and appealing. Particularly air force stuff, or being in the army working around and alongside tanks and armored vehicles.

I dunno I kind of like the idea of being missile security or something for the air force.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

"If you don't agree with our cultural marxist bullshit ideology you're a sexist"
i don't remember saying anything like that

anita says stuff like that, and i don't necessarily agree with her

when people claim not to be feminists, i just figure, "eh, they're too stupid to know what feminism is--they're feminists"

because that's pretty much what's going on there
The question becomes- what is feminism? Are the movements that today call themselves feminist the definers? Or was it established in the past?
