=Reminder that the people that vote are old, racist, white people. No way they'll vote for Community Sanders or Criminal Clinton. Trump has this election locked up.
Well by that logic, how did Obama win?
If the democratic party actually gets excitement, they'll win, but it seems from the turnout polls, and history in general, that a Republican will win. Unless it's Cruz.
Because black people, who don't normally vote, voted for Obama. If Obama was white he would have lost.
I'm not so sure about that. The entire country was fed up with Bush and the republicans in the white house.
And here we are, nearly 8 years later, fighting the stupid wars that we hated back then, soo...fat lot of good that did us.
Who is this we. I didn't hate the Afghan or Iraq wars.

Is there a purpose in using """"""""""free"""""""""" repeatedly?
Because it isn't and cannot be truly free. The burden of cost is simply moved directly onto the shoulders of those who do not directly benefit from it. It's as free as a car bought with stolen money. Really, as free as a stolen car.

This isn't really related to this thread, but if the people in the US who are the best off (at least economically) are asian, why have I never seen anyone seriously use the term asian privilege?
Because the people who use the phrase white privilege don't really care about Asian success. Also, Asian-American success is largely recent (last century or so). Asian Immigrants had to work their way up the ladder, which is in some ways a bigger deal than European-American success, since Europeans built that ladder to begin with years ago, and have stayed around the top since then. Asian-Americans pretty much embody the American dream. I think the next group we're going to see doing that is Indian-Americans.

Even if that were to be true, why is immigration a negative thing? I don't see it as a really bad thing. It offers me opportunities for more varied experiences. I can meet interesting people that tribalism would otherwise keep out of my life. Plus, interesting food. In the case of the US, more Latin American immigration means more Christians coming in, which has the potential for further propagation of my values.
If it only brings economic gain as you say, then you'd only be opposed to it because you're a racist, plain and simple.
Economic gain isn't the only gain. It is one of the major gains. But you're massively simplifying the issue. Immigration is a non-issue with a culturally and reproductively healthy native majority. That said, immigrants will inevitably have some impact on the native culture. In the case of Sweden, a country with a declining native population that is quickly approaching a state of self-hate, the newcomers have a very good chance of displacing the natives. If you value your culture, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof) or the values tied to these things, you should understand that bringing in rapidly-reproducing people from a totally different cultural background endangers them. It doesn't concern me, but I understand why one might be worried. To just toss away these concerns for fear of being "racist" is, frankly, fucking retarded.
I still don't see how that's relevant to free education. It's not like it's majorly funded through immigrants.
It isn't really. Especially in the case of the US, which currently has no shortage of laborers with or without immigration. I dunno lmao you guys started talking about it I just joined

SJWs are *part of* the social left.
They are most if not all of it. The old social left is the center today, the mainstream. The line is around gay marriage. The right starts at disapproval of gay marriage. The left starts at active support of gay marriage (as opposed to passive, which is the center) goes on into transgender acceptance (center left), and further into social justice.

tbh we should just accept the demands of the NBPP and give them some pacific islands to make their own new black nation and release all the incarcerated blacks to them like they and the NoI want. Then these discriminated against minorities can have a land of their own to finally prosper and create a home for black people to be free of white opression.
It worked out so well last time.

With free higher education, more people will get educated which is good for the country.
Here in Sweden education is free and I'm currently taking one at a University. I wouldn't be able to do that otherwise without putting my family's economy at great risk.
Yeah but you have to import brown people to tax to sustain your government spending.
>using memes in a political debate
That's not a meme Mass immigration of uneducated laborers is a major economic tactic for many wealthy European countries, and Sweden is the foremost example. It isn't solely because of higher education, but because of the large welfare state in general, as well as an aging native population that is failing to produce enough offspring to sustain this style of economy. The government just likes to tell voters that it's about morality and sharing and diversity to make natives feel better about being replaced.

no the other kind of spook
But seriously, can't you see how you've traded logic and reasoning for just calling everything you dislike a "spook"?
Things I like are spooks too. Like freedom and rights.
Logic and reasoning are also spooks. They may in fact be the most dangerous spooks of all, because you're taught that by using them you can be free of spooks, when really they steer your thinking and become spooks themselves.
Holy shit you're fucking retarded shut the fuck up you stupid son of a bitch you couldn't think for yourself if your life depended on it you dumbshit motherfucker
On the contrary, my Self is the only one I think for. I know now that I don't, and never did, need to bow down to Reason, Civility, Nature, etc.
Sorry I blasphemed against your gods. I can see it really hurt your feelings
LOL If you believe any of the bullshit you just said you'd be out wildin shooting people and selling drugs, not talking like a nerd on your computer.
"I only care about myself, fuck civility and reason, but I'm still a bitch"
I am a Christian, so I bow to the morality dictated by my God and my faith. For this reason I would never engage in wanton violence. Selling drugs doesn't interest me and the potential legal consequences could lock me out of many of the career options I am considering.
I'd like to know exactly why I should care about "civility" or "reason" beyond how I can use them in my own self-interest. Explain to me why you think these values aren't arbitrary.
"I'm not civil because it's good to be civil, but because of a book written by sexually frustrated angry old men"
I am civil at the very least because it is beneficial for me to be civil. There is no commandment to "be a nice guy and shit", although it does go hand in hand with other Christian values like charity, nonviolence, etc.

How exactly do we make universities charge less? Ask them nicely?
Although I don't know the exact details, public universities receive government money. Something must be done to make sure that that money goes exclusively to making higher education more affordable, not building new stadiums or pretty gardens to use as "safe spaces". I would also make sure that government money never goes near Humanities or Arts departments. It would also be extremely wise to do more with community colleges, trade schools, and offer specialized training in public high schools, so that a University education loses some of its necessity. This will make the high costs less of a problem, and potentially force universities to cut costs further in order to compete with these other educational choices.

right. Public schools are already working on this to one degree or another.
My high school offered an agriculture track, an auto mechanic track, and cooperated with the local hospital and community college to offer nursing training to Juniors and Seniors. I wouldn't mind increased spending to expand and diversify programs like these.
Me neither, actually. We had some of the same. But we didn't have programs for many things people were interested in college for. Rather than transfer responsibilities from one to the other, why not focus on improving the existing the infrastructure for those programs?
Because preparing laborers for the workplace has never been the responsibility of the higher education system. This notion that one "needs" college to live a successful life is relatively new. What I really don't know is why there is so little emphasis on learning trades today. It doesn't seem to have been such a problem in the past.

Because it's easier to make it taxpayer subsidized than it is to make universities reel in their absurd costs. Doing something retarded because it's easier than doing things the right way makes no sense. We already have taxpayer subsidized K-12 education. I don't see why people aren't bothered by that, too.
Because our education system is well established with college being "that thing smart and/or wealthy kids go to so they can get higher paying jobs" Massively increasing accessibility devalues previously existing and future degrees by flooding the labor market with them.

But we already have """""""""""""free"""""""""""" education that everyone attends
It's called public school and it is open to everyone from the age of 5 to 18
why not just make that better, if the objective is simply to make the population "more smarterer"
At some point people need to specialize their knowledge. We shouldn't necessarily focus on making everyone smart at everything.

i think the gist is that if college is free then more people will go, if more people go then you have a populace which is better educated.
