But it isn't working.
Because nobody actually tried. You have to actually target the users, not just the sellers and producers, if you want to kill it.

Murder the market and the merchants will find a new trade.

Bring fascism back
Fascism is just a deluded attempt at classical revivalism blended with populism.

It's like trying to stitch a wound with razor wire.

Why can't the Indonesians have an Islamic theocracy if they want? Why can't the Pakistanis have a military dictatorship? Why can't the Serbs run their own country the way they prefer? What is the appeal in making sure that people whose minds have been wasted by Alzheimer's Disease vote? Well, let's not beat around the bush: the appeal of mass democracy lies in the fact that in essentially every country in the world today, the number of persons unable to think for themselves is substantially larger than the number able to make independent decisions. Those unable to think for themselves have their thinking done for them by the people who control the mass media. Which is to say, democracy is the preferred system because it gives the political power to those who own or control the mass media and at the same time allows them to remain behind the scenes and evade responsibility for the way in which they use that power. And the more inclusive the democracy is -- that is, the more Alzheimer's sufferers and Mongoloid cretins and paranoid schizophrenics and people who live in empty packing cases in alley ways and Jamaican immigrants and football fans are able to vote -- the more certain is the grip of the media masters on the political process. Those voters who buy astrology magazines at the checkout stand and spend their time watching soap operas, game shows, and Oprah absorb their general attitudes on things through the television screen. They learn which ideas are fashionable and which are not by noticing the facial expression and tone of voice of Tom Brokaw and Dan Rather when the news is announced each day.

Honestly, who even cares? It's certainly not the first hugbox on the internet, it won't be the last, and it is definitely not one of importance. Let them have their circle jerk, and we'll continue to BTFO them in stats and if they start talking shit on Bnet. Why give them all so much attention?

Honestly his name is so stupid that I, not having followed the story, looked at the title and assumed this thread was some kind of shitpost.

He looks at is as a punishment for not voting for Bernie.
Holy shit sauce? Your post alone made me laugh.

He's a satirization and mockery of the democratic process in general.
This is the big one for me. I'm genuinely considering voting for him in the general just for the fuck of it.

I don't want to have to vote for Clinton but it's hard for me to justify voting for someone who seems to incite violence among Americans right here.
Politics are simply a socially accepted form of violence. Personally, I don't see why the notion of inciting violence is seen as so immoral. Every single policy enforced is violent. Does pretending otherwise make it okay?

Of course, there are stupid ways and reasons to openly incite violence. But there are also very smart ways to do it.

Greek would be pretty useful for reading old manuscripts and books.
This is my thinking as well. There's abundant material in both languages, but Greek literature seems much more interesting, where most of Latin after the fall of the western Roman Empire is just boring academia.

From everything I'm reading and hearing, though, a semester or two of Latin may be a good primer for Greek.

T4R

On the one hand, Latin is probably way easier, and Rome>Ancient Greece.

On the other hand, Ancient Greek is a cooler language, and with some work can be used to teach myself modern Greek, AND Greek-speaking Romans>Latin Rome>Ancient Greece. Plus, it would likely give me access to more obscure Greek Christian texts, which would be nice.

For the record, I'm not looking to apply these in any professional context. I just have to take one or the other for my minor.

Guess I'm moving from Bernie to Hillary. It's time to be realistic, in order for another "Bernie" to win in 2024 we have to keep up the left movement. Which can only be done with a progressive democrat.
This "Hillary is realistic and Bernie is idealistic" is one of the most annoying memes being propagated in this election.
Well, the latter half is definitely true. Not sure about the first.

Not to bump this goddamn thread again, but I found this and it does a really good job explaining some of the suicide shit that was talked about here and I really would rather not make a new thread. Basically it can be summed up with this: social stigmas are shit and can utterly destroy a person's self confidence when you've lost so much in life just to try to be yourself. I'd still suggest reading it though because I'm bad at explaining.

Transgender suicide rates are as awful in "le brogressive :DDDD" countries as they are in the states or anywhere else.

>modern medicine
Materialism sucks. Mortality means little when it comes to the actual greatness of an age. People in centuries past didn't complain about how terrible their medicine was. Ours is, in fact, a grand luxury.

It's hilarious that Ohio was given to Kasich, considering that a lot of Ohioans are not fond of him at all.
Funny enough my understanding was that it was the other way around.

I have a large extended family in Ohio who love Kasich.
