Yeah that's not the part I'm talking about. I'm just saying like the way you wrote it, it sounds like a bullshit story.
I was trying to talk about it while emulating Sandtrap's writing style. Actually happened though.

Critique my writing scale of 1-10
I give it a 10/10

Sure thing, buddy.
I see it as kind of an Iliad type deal.

It doesn't matter if the details are exact, if it wasn't just one guy, or if the story itself is a fabrication.

The kleos is there, that's what matters. That we remember, whether or not we remember correctly.

lol do you think your lazy fatass spoiled kids are gonna want to get up at 5am to pick berries in scorching weather?
I did something close to your exaggeration last summer. I did, in fact, get up at 5. The weather was scorching. But instead of berries I walked a few miles a day picking trash up off of the grass on the side of the roads in my cities so that it could be mowed.

It wasn't as awful as it sounds on paper after the first week. I didn't spend much time with the guys who cut on foot, who were dicks. I mostly cleared in front of the tractor drivers, who were really cool guys and really nice to me, totally understanding when I screwed something up. Also spent some of the days picking up trash with the other trash guy, Willie. Willie was cool as fuck. Nice guy from a really rough inner city background, poor but he worked hard and made due. Made sure to tell me about Jesus and to stay away from drugs.

You underestimate how much teenagers like money.
Sorry but this sounds like total bullshit.

I'm not trying to say whether or not the point you're making is right or wrong or whatever. I'm just saying, this sounds fake.
I would have tried to get a less shitty job but I didn't start looking until the end of May for a summer job and nobody wanted to hire some kid with no experience who would go off to college in three months anyway. So I signed up with a temp worker agency who assigned me to this job working for my city's Parks and Rec thing. They bring in temp workers over the summer when there's more work to be done.

« on: March 28, 2016, 10:46:18 PM »
You've seen the images. Jesus was skinny and wiry. Man those skinny guys fight till their burger.
The Jesus we typically see was actually a painting commissioned by Rodrigo Borgia aka Pope Alexander VI. He got Da Vinci to paint his son, Cesare Borgia, multiple times That's what we almost always see Jesus associated with. No doubt a skinny little man, but he was some dark curly haired middle eastern dude.

you have to be overly ideological to the point where you're up your own ass to think democracy is bad.
What a ridiculous and arrogant notion.

To put it in simple terms.  Democracy = freedom . Freedom = good.
Democracy = populism
populism = the oppression of non-majority ideas and the ruling of soccer mom hysteria
sounds like a perfect society.
I refuse to live in a styrofoam padded world where everything that's remotely scary is banned on sight.
You're implying that's the popular opinion.  That's why rival parties and views exist to influence popular opinion.
True rival parties and ideas are quickly demonized via propaganda, then suppressed via policy.

The propaganda machine is so efficient you don't even realize it's propaganda. There is an illusion of freedom, and illusion of choice. But it isn't real. You are allowed to choose from a very narrow ideological spectrum, and risk ostracization or criminality if you go beyond that spectrum.
choosing from a "narrow ideological  spectrum " beats having none to choose from.
They are one and the same

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3509692/Russian-soldier-wipes-band-ISIS-fighters-calling-airstrikes-surrounded-jihadists.html

A Russian soldier has died a 'hero' after wiping out a band of ISIS fighters by calling in airstrikes on himself.

The special forces officer was on a one-man mission to track down ISIS militants in the area around Palmyra, when he found himself surrounded by enemy fighters.

Caught in a hopeless situation, he directed Russian aircraft to bomb his location, killing himself and the ISIS fighters that surrounded him.

Moscow’s defence ministry said Russian aircraft carried out 146 strikes on ‘terrorist targets’ in the Palmyra area between Wednesday and last Sunday.

It comes the day after Syrian troops entered Palmyra, with photographs emerging of Bashar al-Assad's forces within the ancient city itself.

Meanwhile, the ISIS second-in-command Abdul Rahman Mustafa al-Qaduli has been killed in bombing raids in Syria.

The ISIS finance minister had a $7million bounty on his head, and US defence officials have claimed his death will make it more difficult for ISIS to operate and pay its fighters.

US Defence Secretary Ash Carter said US forces are 'systematically eliminating ISIL's cabinet. We killed several key ISIL terrorists this week'.

God became man so that man might become god.

I gotta follow up.
To become god sounds quite absurd.
Still, it'd be enjoyable to have control over other people's lives to such an extent.
Thank you for your contribution, Jewleeus Seezerr
You misunderstand me. Note that I only capitalized the word god once.

We can't become Him, and we can't become gods ourselves. But we can seek union with his energies, and become closer to Him, while retaining and fulfilling our individuality. Unity in Diversity.

The Flood / Re: OFFICIAL TURKROACH MOCKERY THREAD
« on: March 28, 2016, 01:12:30 PM »
What are Turks? I read somewhere that they're a mix of Byzantines and Mongolians
Originally a steppe people from central Asia, related to other Turkic peoples and likely the mongols. They could possibly be related to the Xiognu peoples that fought with China.

Like other horsefuckers, they were raiding, pillaging barbars for a longass time. Eventually they converted to Islam and took control of the infrastructure of Persia and other mideastern governments.

Came into conflict with what was left of the Eastern Roman empire, took over Anatolia, and eventually ran the Romans out of Constantinople.

Spent the rest of the time being assimilated into the Anatolian gene pool while their culture was spread by the Ottoman gov't from the top down. This weird back and forth happened where the Anatolians absorbed the Turkish people, but many adopted the Turkish culture (which itself was heavily Persianized). Turks way back when were much more Asian looking than modern Turks, who have more in common physically with Greeks and Balkaners.

Turkish culture and religion (Sunni Islam) were spread to parts of the Balkans via Ottoman expansionism, dividing the people between new ethnic groups and setting the stage for the tension existing there today. This is why Albanians and Bosniaks are in conflict with Serbs and Croats.

Fast forward to WWI, Ottoman empire falls apart and Turkish nationalism comes along, Young Turks and later governments work to purge Anatolia and Asia Minor of non-Turkish ethnic groups (Assyrians, Pontics, Greeks, Armenians, later on Kurds). During the 20th century, Turks succeed in removing every major ethnic minority except for Kurds, and also occupy and engage in ethnic cleansing on Cyprus. That leads us up to today, and you know what the current situation is.

Poverty is no excuse for theft.

Being hungry does not remove a man's moral agency and capacity to differentiate between right and wrong (on a cultural or religious level).
