http://rare.us/story/rand-paul-just-trolled-the-hell-out-of-cruz-and-rubio-on-the-defense-budget/>typical republicans sending blank checks to the pentagon >both cruz and rubio sign on to increase the defense spending by a gorillian dollars >golf claps , praise jesus ronald reagan >implying they're not the same person >rand paul introduces a spending bill >increases military spending exactly as much cruz and rubio >except in paul's bill , he cuts the everliving fuck out of government and pays for every dime. >cruz and rubio now have to explain how they are fiscal conservatives when they are sending blank checks to the pentagon while paul "the isolationist" is paying for said checks tldr its ogre if rand's PR team handles this right

I'm feeling nostalgiac as hell tonight. Friend and I were out having some burgers and were joking about how goofy Green Day was, and just to fuck around decided to drive through town at twice the speed limit blasting Jesus of Suburbia. I have no fucking clue how but we sang along and we remembered every single fucking word, I wasn't sure whether to be embarrassed or proud, I hadn't heard this song in over 4 years. I'm such a pleb I swear to fuck.

Spoiler Also known as "Ghost Tape Number 10" was an audio mix the US military used for psychological operations in the Vietnam War against the North Vietnamese. It played deeply on the Vietnamese belief of ancestor worship, spirits and the afterlife. The Wandering Soul was played on loudspeakers installed on helicopters, PCF boats or by infantry 'loudspeaker teams' on known enemy areas usually at night deep within the jungle.
"It exploited the belief among many of the Vietnamese people that once a person is dead the remains must be placed in an ancestral burial ground or that person will forever wander aimlessly in space. The tape was so effective that we were instructed not to play it within earshot of the South Vietnamese forces, because they were as susceptible as the Viet Cong or North Vietnamese Army. Wandering Soul' broadcasts of eerie sounds intended to represent the souls of enemy dead who have not found peace (i.e. by being buried in the village family plot)...the idea was that the sounds would at least get a Communist soldier to think about where his soul would rest in the likely event of his being killed far from home." - LTC Raymond Deitch, 6th PSYOP Battalion Commander
"The damn reverb effect of the recording is eerie. I saw and picked-up leaflets and once heard Funeral Music played over the valleys around Landing Zone Mary Ann. A Kit Carson Scout told me what the music was. This was a ghostly sound. Hell, listening to that made me want to Chieu Hoi myself. It must have been effective as hell in the jungle at night." - Unnamed 1st Infantry Division sergeant 1968-1970 This has to be the coolest job in the world.

Millions of Greek, Armenian, and Assyrian Christians died at the hands of the Young Turks, and it seems like nobody in a position of power out here is willing to say anything for fear of pissing off Turks.
I say fuck Turkey, this shit needs public recognition and the fact that it doesn't get much makes me really fucking mad. Maybe I'm just in a bad mood but thinking about this shit has me steaming.
I'm writing about the genocide of Assyrians for AP Human Geo and it's absolutely horrific what went down, nearly half of an entire ethnic group wiped out. I can't believe this shit still isn't recognized by every country in Europe, especially considering so many of them have laws against Holocaust denialism.
Maybe I haven't read enough but this is some seriously fucked up shit and I don't get why it isn't taught in schools. It seems like most of the west just glosses over this and only a few writers or politicians ever say anything about it in any given country.

If you boycott every single corporation that does something morally or ethically questionable, you're basically cutting yourself off from like 60% of businesses out there.
LGB rights have picked up enough momentum that nothing is going to stop the movement. Where you buy your chicken sandwich means absolutely nothing in the long or short run.
So just eat what you like, because if you only eat what's 100% right, you'll go hungry.

Legislation would make it a civil rights violation to enforce criminal or traffic laws for the purpose of raising revenue. Yesterday, U.S. Representative Emanuel Cleaver, II (MO-05) in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Selma, and in response to the tragic events of Ferguson, announced his plan to introduce a bill to ban criminal and traffic law enforcement activities motivated by revenue raising purposes. Announcing introduction of the Fair Justice Act, Congressman Cleaver stated, "The time has come to end the practice of using law enforcement as a cash register, a practice that has impacted too many Americans and has disproportionately affected minority and low-income communities. No American should have to face arbitrary police enforcement, the sole purpose of which is to raise revenue for a town, city, or state.” Congressman Cleaver's Fair Justice Act would make it a civil rights violation, punishable by up to five years in prison, to enforce criminal or traffic laws solely to raise revenue. Thus, no official or agency of a state or a county, city, town or other political subdivision may adopt a policy or engage in any activity that authorizes, promotes, or executes the enforcement of criminal, civil, or traffic laws for the purpose of raising revenue. http://cleaver.house.gov/media-center/press-releases/congressman-cleaver-announces-introduction-of-the-fair-justice-act
