Well, you know, you can't really win on either front. Eating an animal and eating a plant are the same damn thing. Plants and animals are both living things, both of which have some aspect of feelings and intelligence.
Take your pick, eat what you choose, and be thankful that whatever it is you're eating is giving your body the neccessary energy to survive via the taking of said organisms life.
I never really got the whole high and mighty vegans thing to begin with. Just people being silly is all.
This raises a very good question... what would happen if plants became intelligent and struck back at us for raising them to be eaten?

It isn't. I gave 3 reasons. I don't want to see them, we're hard wired to view them as sacred because they feed babies and that should never ever go away, and it has a strong possibility of making kids sexually awkward.
I'm gonna need to see some studies confirming number three before I buy off on that.
