Probably that. I can't even imagine the volume of chemicals you used to achieve that whiteness...

I did it twice a weekend every other weekend starting end May to beginning July, and once at the end of July or early August.
Well fuck, man. That's harsh.

Roughly forty-two percent of your posts make me gag or cringe. Why is this?

There's no psychological effects when somebody wants revenge
Arguable, especially on the grounds of feeding revenge itself.

Yes, for crimes against children in which there is absolute and irrefutable evidence.

No. Rehabilitation is the single best option for society. Some people, however, are immune to rehabilitation.

Hanging is the only proper form of capital punishment.
I think a quick bullet to the head is better. Less suffering.
Pretty sure we removed firing squads because of the psychological impact that has on the men pulling the trigger.
Tell that to the Taliban and their public executions at the Ghazi Stadium. Apparently the Taliban would tie up a criminal at a post or whatever, set up some old Soviet machine guns, and let the family of the dead victim rain down fire on the tied up person
Jihadists have no conscience, Kinder. If they did, they clearly wouldn't be running around the middle east the way they are.

How is hooking someone up to an electric chair any different?
What about soldiers at war? Psychological impact is inevitable no matter what.
The chair is just barbaric and shouldn't be considered anymore by anyone.
Regardless. No matter the method, there's still going to be an impact on the people doing the executions, unless they're properly conditioned for the job.
You're not wrong, which is why I feel that (since the death penalty obviously isn't going away anytime soon) we need to detach human interaction from the process as much as possible.

The Flood / Re: I had to put one of my dogs down this morning
« on: September 14, 2014, 08:07:28 PM »

I have two labs, the older of the two has had some health problems over the last year, and they finally caught up with her last night. We took her to the emergency vet and they said it's best if we put her down, since there wasn't really anything they could do.

It's sad, but she had a good life. She was 14, which is a pretty good age for a dog.

The house just feels a little emptier.

:(
it feels empty because you have one less dog FYI.
That's the kind of stupid joke I thought I'd see from Comms...

"the mysterious stranger said they were coming for a visit"
Singular they is to be discouraged at all times, yet may be acceptable when noun/pronoun disagreement cannot be avoided.

Anyway, the sentence still instinctively reads as if multiple people are coming.
"Somebody left their umbrella in the office. Would they please collect it?"
"That person said they don't know where to go"
"The student failed their exam"
"When I tell someone a joke they laugh"

Also the singular use of they/them/their goes back to the 14th century.

On one hand, he just rendered a child that should be beyond abortion terms essentially dead.
On the other hand, nobody is actually suffering and this placates any desire to harm others from the man (at least until he grows tired of his "living" sex doll.)
On the third hand, I now know what Meta's doing when he wins the lottery.

Right, and that's exactly why you respond the way you do.
Like the way you misgendered Noelle in plug.dj and other places. Totally not trying to stir up anger, right?

Don't make me start quoting things from this thread.
I call Noel "he" because I don't recognize transgenderism as a legitimate change of gender. Not trying to stir up anything, just standing by my beliefs.
Misgendering and knowingly using the wrong name is purposely stirring up trouble.
Hey, basic human respect anybody?
If I said that I believed I was a bear at heart, and demanded you call me "it", and that my new name was "Rrrragh", would you do that? Same exact thing.
I don't see why not. It's the internet, after all. Who the fuck cares?
Generally "it" is a bit offensive though, so I might use "they" instead.
No matter how hard I try, I can not bring myself to refer to an individual with a plural pronoun.
I've since found it much simpler to just not use pronouns for trans people at all, even if it looks a tad unnatural. Nobody gets offended and my inner grammar nazi is satisfied.

One more question.

Does transgenderism cause dysphoria, or does dysphoria cause transgenderism?
I may be wrong, but I thought "transgender" referred to people who changed their sex. So the dysphoria (thinking that you're a different sex to begin with) would lead to the transgenderism.
Transgenderism is merely the identification with a gender not consistent with one's assigned sex.
So transgenderism is gender dysphoria, with that definition.
GD is dependent on stress and other mental factors being present, I believe, while transgenderism is just always a thing.
