Tokyo Ghoul anime was a terrible adaptation, hopefully the 2nd cour is better.
Really? I had heard otherwise.
The manga was very psychological and had a LOT of symbolism. Not only did the anime cut nearly all of that out, they had to ham fist a few scenes for it to make sense. Hopefully the 2nd Cour will be better since the mangaka, Ishida, is the lead writer for it.
<__<

All that good stuff happened later in the manga, there were only some bits in the beginning that were even present, and its mostly just referring to a book that Kaneki had, which happened to be foreshadowing more than anything, I may be missing something else.
Well,
Spoiler
the whole thing with Rize was changed in the anime given that he started hallucinating her much earlier. A big part of that was that, during Jason's torture, he held onto her as a symbol of his strength. It wasn't anything to do with his surgery, like the anime incorrectly implies given how it is set up, it was due to him coming out the other side a little worse for wear. The anime also lacks the goat egg and Kafka symbolism that both Eto and Kaneki share. Among the other buts and pieces, it never even touched on the Tarot symbolism from the manga whatsoever.

For those who don't want to spoil themselves, they basically ripped out all the symbolism and Kafka references from the manga and completely fucked the development. That's why I'm relieved that they're not bothering to follow the manga now, because there's no way it could turn our any way but a train wreck if they did that.
Franz Kafka?

can any of your guns double as a fishing pole?

checkm8

If gun was any good, you could just shoot fish.
but when you run out of ammo and bay becomes dull it is then time to adapt
So tell me, mr Cheeki Breeki, how do you feel a hit when your rod doesn't flex?

This makes me physically ill.
How does that even work?
According to wikipedia...
The weapons were gas operated with annular gas piston located around the barrel and a vertically moving bolt, which made it possible to minimise the length of the receiver group. A U-shaped rammer/extractor was used to chamber and extract the cartridge by pushing it into the chamber where after discharge was pulled back from the chamber and again, upon feeding the new cartridge, pushed forward and slightly up into an ejection tube above the barrel where finally exiting above the muzzle. Due to this ejection mechanism it was possible to fire from both right and left arm positions.

Alright ya wibbly wobblies, what's coming up that's supposed to be good that isn't moeshit (although I'm totally gonna watch miritary!) or a sequel to something I've never watched?

Sengoku Musou should give me my shitty historical fiction fix, and Rolling Girls looks like a nice opportunity for motorcycle porn.

Hot damn the people in the OP are fucking assholes. Ruined a girls life because she gave a guy a concussion and scratched his gun. They could have just scared her and dropped the charges. She probably thought she was doing something right. The people in the wrong were the father and his sons. They ruined a woman's life for shits and giggles.
She deserved it for being a liberal./

Serious / Re: Opinions on U.S. military strategy
« on: January 01, 2015, 06:19:35 PM »
I'm talking strategy, not tactics. Our current global strategy is deterrence-based. Though open war between nations will likely never happen to the scale that was typical the past 600 years, there will still be pockets of terrorism and aggression which can largely be preempted by presenting a large enough threat.

Same difference.
Nah son, this is large scale, global strategy and overarching missions to accomplish the goal of that strategy, not battlefield or campaign tactics.

My only problem with large scale military deterrence is that it generates a lot of tension with powers who would be most likely to be on the receiving end of all that preemptive firepower.

I've stumbled upon a few articles that point out people who are extremely homophobic may actually be homosexual themselves but are just greatly suppressing it.
I feel as if someone needs to tell you that this doesn't always hold true.

Oi mate, shit won't let me in.

29392
At first, while reading the article, I was mad at the parents, then at the Church. Now I'm mad at the girl. She had one year to hold out, but instead made the conscious decision to fucking martyr herself. Congratulations, you're no longer capable of being an activist for the better treatment of trans youth, because now you're just another fucking statistic. One god damn year to hold out under her parents.

Now that I think about it more, everything about this article pisses me off.

Oh, so now you wear women's underwear too?

I thought you would like it.

Again, kindly refrain from calling Elegiac a dingo, please and thank you.
So how comes I can make fun of Kinder's weight, conservative beliefs, and general ignorance without repercussion but if someone else calls Elegiac a dingo it gets edited?
