Gorilla glass does NOT like to be dropped straight on the corner, especially if the screen covers the entire front of the phone and the glass itself makes contact with the floor.
So it's just a property of the glass itself instead of the way they assemble the phone?
Goddammit I hate consumer electronics. If everyone was allowed to cut corners the way they do people would die.
It's otherwise decently shatter resistant and a little more scratch resistant than other touchscreen options.

I have a bit of a theory about why it's so easy to crack the screens.
I've noticed, at least every time I've cracked a screen, that when it happens people will try to catch it and it'll end up landing on the corner. The issue here is that the screens are glued all around the edge of the phone, causes there to be a lot of tension in the screen it self because it's being pulled in several directions by what really amounts to too much glue. When the phone lands on the corner it flexes and the tension in the screen causes it to crack.
I bet if you were to glue the screens just in the corners this would happen less often. I have to replace a cracked screen now and intend on just replacing it myself in order to test it.

The Nazis were 30 years ahead of the rest of the world technologically speaking
Maybe five.
The show I watched on the history channel ten years ago that I vaguely remember said twenty or thirty.
But the history channel specials are all written by a bunch of Wehraboo Nazi apologists.
Seriously, these are the people who think the Sturmgewehr and the Panzerfaust were so revolutionary they must have been given to Hitler by aliens.
But if the STG wasn't from aliens, what was Die Glocke for?

Certain weapons are better at certain things. Swords tend to be more wieldy then Maces, as the point of balance is closer to the hand, but Maces can break plate and chainmail armor, while swords are not nearly as effective. Yes, you can half-sword and aim for the joints or strike with the pommel, but there are better weapons for the job.
Brah, the wonderful thing about the longsword, great sword, and maybe some longer arming swords is that you can grab the motherfucking blade and beat the shit out of your opponent with the crossguard like a pick, and as long as your grip is tight and your hands don't slip, you can fucking wail on them for days.

thinking about it, if somebody ever charged at me with a katana i wouldn't know what to do or think
Well, chances are he's gonna slash wrong, so just wait for the wrist to roll and the sword to twist on impact and hit you with the flat instead of the edge. You may then precede to dump twenty one rounds of .40 smith and mall-cop into him.
How bad do you have to be to fail at slashing with a katana? The things are designed for it. Edge alignment isn't that hard to understand.
I do not know of sword disarming techniques, but I figure you could just take an angle to their side to avoid the oncoming strike, right? Frankly the only other things I can think of are grabbing the back of the sword or trying to block with your forearms, which both sound stupid and painful.
Well, plenty of people fail to realize that the katana is a two handed weapon. They also fail to realize that you don't fully extend your wrist when you cut with a curved blade, so they do that thinking it maximizes the length of the stroke and end up unknowingly rolling the blade.

I destroyed two screens on my nokia at work. Gorilla glass is fickle at certain impact angles.
But what causes you to drop a phone so easily!?
The first one was a pocket malfunction. The second time I dunno.

Also not even going to try to find a link because I'm lazy but because healthcare costs are a thing in a roundabout way you actually are harmed by obese people in society
Obese people tend to die sooner and are less expensive in the long run (can't collect soc. security if you're dead) than healthy, 80 year old people.

A sword is a sword, if you don't have something to fight back with I'd say leg it <_< Or for yanks scream SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED and just mow the eejit down with a minigun.
Well if it's a fat weeb then I'm afraid his rolls would just absorb the rounds and piss it off more >.>
What about an AT-gun with some HEAT rounds then? <__________<
HESH may be a better idea.
I think that's the one I was trying to remember <.< The one that britbong tanks use >.>
Yeah, you fuckers still like your HESH rounds and rifled cannons. Meanwhile America and Germany are like, fuck you, our Rheinmetall 120 smoothbores are better.

I'm completely neutral to religion. I'll just see what happens when I reach the end of the line. I know there's a chance it's all lies, stirred up from thousands of years worth of tall tales, but I'm hoping there's something. I don't like the thought of a vast, cold, dark, empty universe with no real purpose.
EDIT: Yeah, I'm hoping that Germanic or Norse Paganism is the real ones.
Pascal's Wager comes to mind. Live as if God exists, because if he does, you get to relax in paradise; if he doesn't, you lived a life of altruism and joy. The only downside is if you're a buffoon that treats a book written thousands of years ago that has suffered from numerous, rough translations as total fact, and you end up dying as a hateful and anxiety stricken nut.
the unappealing thing about Pascal's wager is that it's not actually 50/50, considering that for it to be so, there could only be one religion in the world. You're not quite betting on weather or not your god exists or not, but weather or not your god would be the one to exist out of 500+ potential deities.

As a fat guy, I don't feel as if special accommodations need to be made by society for fat people. I also hold no sympathy for true land whales and morbidly obese people. They put themselves in that position, and I try to keep myself out of it.

I think the sentiments relegating it to being a coping mechanism or list of instructions for the weak-minded are unbelievably shallow. Religion is integral to understanding humanity and our culture, psychology, science, and past. I think it's embarrassingly arrogant to disregard the cultural and moral knowledge of our species since before written language, and claim to know better. It's a very sophomoric statement, and it's no surprise to see the younger of the users espouse it, but a little disheartening to see it from the older members.
But Turkey, look at how early religions were made. They were a way to explain things that couldn't be explained, many of them scary things, like volcanoes and shit.

i dont understand the appeal of a cantana
is it weebs that are obsessed with them or something
well to be fair a cantana would totally fuck up any unarmed person, lol
Yes, you can kill anyone with a stick if you really wanted to. However, in the world of swords katanas historically were shitily constructed from crap materials, most produced today are still shit, and those that aren't shit aren't that special.
They look cool and uneducated people are led to believe that all Katanas are god-like and can cut through anything as they are invincible from having the metal folded so many times.
They did wonders for slashing peasants who looked at you wrong through. But yeah, in any military engagement though, if you actually had to draw from your daisho, you were fucked and probably knew you were about to die.
