Gaming / Fallout 4 Announcement« on: December 06, 2014, 05:20:08 PM »
Jokes on you, Bethesda still hasn't decided to announce it.
But, I will pose a question - how much longer do you think they can go without a formal announcement that says "Yes, it exists, and yes, it's coming"? To put it into perspective going off of past Fallout games - Bethesda stated in 2004 they would begin working on Fallout 3, but didn't truly begin whole-heartedly until after Oblivion shipped. The first announcement and trailer came around in 2007, and the game launched in October 2008. Fallout New Vegas was announced in April 2009, and launched October 2010. So, is 2015 the year of an announcement? Or is Bethesda going to continue teasing the idea til 2016, or beyond? 6935

Serious / Re: How would you answer this moral problem?« on: December 06, 2014, 03:25:10 PM »Due to the lovely issue of sovereignty, that is, unfortunately, unavoidable. Not entirely. Likely due to the fact that there are far worse conditions elsewhere in the world that need attending to first - therefore, more costs and aid goes to these regions. Aid organizations can only do so much with however much funding they get. Child labor is shitty, yes. But there are far worse. 6937

Due to the lovely issue of sovereignty, that is, unfortunately, unavoidable. The situation in the OP is. 6939

Holy shit, I've been waiting to use this image.
Basically, what Azumarill said. If you want to say we should round up the gays and send them to gas chambers on live TV, you're welcome to. But don't expect to be shielded from punishment, criticism, or vicious mobs running you out of town. 6951

Serious / Re: How would you answer this moral problem?« on: December 05, 2014, 02:05:30 PM »Didn't say the new civilization would be a utopia, nor should it be. We'd only end up in the start once again. So you'd destroy a utopia for the sake of a single suffering individual? Yes, but it's not a true utopia - it's close, but it's not, and should be feigned as one. 6958
Serious / Re: How would you answer this moral problem?« on: December 05, 2014, 02:00:34 PM »I don't agree with this. Sure - life would be shit for people, but that doesn't mean that the group of people cannot begin anew and start a civilization once more. You're moving the goalposts. The question is about whether you can ever have a moral trade-off between the subjugation of one party and the well-being of another, and where that threshold lies. In this scenario, this is the only way to achieve anything near to a utopia. Didn't say the new civilization would be a utopia, nor should it be. We'd only end up in the start once again. 6960
Serious / Re: How would you answer this moral problem?« on: December 05, 2014, 01:58:16 PM »I assume they pick a new kid eventually. Still, the needs of the many.Technically, no.One person suffering while everybody else leads perfect lives? It's simple mathematics.Fairly certain I had a dream about this once... Not picking a new kid. You'd have to expect, at some point, the problems would spread. |
