He's retweeting a 16 year old, not trash talking him.
Idiot.
His formatting really sucks tho. He's still endorsing trash talk from a 16 year old anyway.
I'm surprised the kid hasn't been given a cabinet post.

I thought that before his Castro speech. I'm just reaffirming myself.
Though I won't go to the point of calling him a massive idiot. Don't praise yourself Ian, it isn't healthy.

They have culture, I will not deny that, something a lot of Americans today unfortunately lack. However going to Cuba is kind of like stepping back in time. It has stagnated significantly in comparison to even small/poor nations in Central America. I'm sure many Cubans would still flee the country even if it wasn't ruled by a dictatorship. Not saying Cuba isn't a country that stuck in the 1950's, or that it isn't understandable that many have fled and continue to flee. Just saying that the points Trudeau made aren't untrue. I also understand Trudeau might have personal feelings on him, but Canada has a pretty good education system so I'm sure at some point he has picked up a history book and wasn't in the dark about Castro's.....misdeeds. He could've been a little more ambiguous about his speech.
Could've and should've. Though I won't go to the point of calling him a massive idiot.

Am I the only one finding it fucking baffling that world leaders who are western are actually saying they're sympathetic he died, and sending people to attend his funeral?
What world do we live in where Trump actually says what is true?
Not really baffling - many of those countries, unlike the US, had diplomatic relations with Cuba. They're kind of obligated to send someoneHalf of them are saying asinine shit like "Muh Healthcare" yet a simple Google search for "Cuban Hospital" brings up some pretty bad images. Justin Trudeau, is the absolute worst, that man is such a massive fucking idiot holy shit.
What he said about reforms to education and healthcare isn't untrue - for a while, I do recall them being on par with many other Western nations. Not that he should be honored in light of his human right violations, but to say that Cuba became a massive, uneducated shithole would also be untrue. Trudeau also has a personal connection to the man - Castro was an honorary pallbearer for his father, former Canadian PM Pierre Trudeau. Not really a surprise that he put out a rosy statement.

Trump apparently wants to keep two key things.
Can't deny someone due to pre-existing conditions
and children stay on parents healthcare until age 26
Problem, particularly for the first one, is that it's funded by the mandate that everyone buy healthcare - basically that the young and healthy are helping to cover those who need healthcare the most. It's also the same mandate that Republicans in Congress hate and seek to repeal. So the big question is how they plan to keep these two portions, while essentially removing how it's funded.

It's looking more and more likely that some, or all, of Obamacare will be repealed come the start of the next Congress. Republicans in Congress have already voted for it's repeal some 50+ times, and President Trump will without a doubt support the repeal.
So, where do we go next? What will it look like post-Obamacare? What about bipartisan provisions in the legislation that, arguably, can't be funded on their own?
Discuss.

I didn't fucking type it in all caps.
Yes, he should. Though apparently he was too focused on "SPACE" and Russia. It doesn't matter if you put it in caps. It's a bit of a joke to say space exploration was a uniting force for a President who was dealing with some of the most iconic and historical protests/riots. There was nothing "united" about us, outside of name, during the time period.

The federal government wasn't enforcing bus integration in the southern states that was downright ignoring the law. Shouldn't have Kennedy brought the hammer down on bus integration in the southern states that refused to obey federal law?
How do you figure? Yes, he should. Though apparently he was too focused on "SPACE" and Russia.

Don't you think if Kennedy had the issue on the forefront, the freedom rider* situation wouldn't have needed to happen? The whole point was that the federal government was doing jack shit to help enforce the law.
I totally originally typed "Writers" because of that shitty movie.
The only part of the movement that is "mostly remembered" from Johnson's administration is the legislation he got passed in Congress. The movement is more aligned with Eisenhower and Kennedy, because that's when the brunt of the force occurred.
Even so, that isn't the point. You said "Space!" would be a unifier today, as it was under Kennedy. Yet even then, it wasn't a unifying force - namely for many Americans who were fighting for basic civil rights. The only real times that America has ever been "united with a common cause" was after Pearl Harbor and 9/11, and that didn't exactly lead to outstanding results. How do you figure?

Because they were grouped up with the entire movement which is mostly remembered from Johnson's administration. I'm not saying Kennedy didn't have a major place in these events, but under his leadership it was on the back burner while he was dealing with the Soviets, the primary trigger for his Space Race.
Tell me again how they weren't focused on or prominent because of "OMG SPACE" The only part of the movement that is "mostly remembered" from Johnson's administration is the legislation he got passed in Congress. I never said that we didn't have major issues during that time, but they weren't focused on until Johnson and Nixon were in office.

All of that took a back seat until after his death.
Yes, because the late 1950's and 1960's were certainly a time of peace for Americans.
Certainly no widespread, nationwide protests on important issues.

CNN Updating(CNN)At least eight people were taken to hospitals after an active shooter was reported on the Ohio State University campus Monday, authorities said.
One of those eight patients is in critical condition, Columbus Fire spokeswoman Rebecca Diehm said.
Campus officials urged people to shelter in place and avoid the Watts Hall area.
"Buckeye Alert: Active Shooter on campus. Run Hide Fight. Watts Hall. 19th and College," OSU Emergency Management tweeted Monday morning.
Watts Hall is the university's materials science and engineering building.
OSU senior Anthony Falzarano, 22, said he was in class at the time of the shooting.
"We heard a lot of sirens. I was in class and everyone got a text message at the same time for the emergency alert," he told CNN. "Someone said they heard popping right before we got the alert, but I didn't hear it. We are in a shelter-in-place right now in the building next door. "

The problem is the divide was never really strong enough to cause this much strife. We all kind of agreed that mostly died out in the twentieth century, not thinking it would come back, and we thought that way up until as close as the end of 2015, we all thought Trump wouldn't even accept his party's nomination IF he won. I wouldn't say that's true, it's just changed dynamics. Under Obama, the strife wasn't in the form of protests like we see today; but go to any social media platform of your choice (And likely a Conservative outlet) and just take a read - shit like the birther controversy, that he's a Muslim, etc. And before the "its the internet" comment, I kindly direct you to public comments made by some elected officials Today, it's reversed; the people protesting are the younger and more diverse generations who (arguably) have more to lose under a Trump Presidency. This rift never "went away", it's just changed mediums. As long as we focus on simple identity politics and not give all of us a common goal outside of that, it's going to remain this way.
And what would you propose is the common goal for 300 million Americans?

He hates Trump so much for scapegoating groups of people and telling them they need to get out, yet what is he doing right now? He's scapegoating everyone he doesn't agree with as "his enemy" and telling us we need to divide this country based on views. That is absolutely impossible and will only hinder this country more.
Oh, I don't agree with Verb's....vocalization of the issue. But you, and others, act like the country isn't already deeply divided based on views - or that it will ever really heal. America is pretty much two very different nations between the liberal urban coasts and cities, and the rural regions everywhere else. That is how it is, and barring any shift (As in more urban areas), how it will be for the next century. My "yes and no" referred to denouncing unification of our nation, versus supporting globalization on the world stage.

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure that Russia had a hand in spreading fake news in an attempt to undermine American elections.
"Everything I dont agree with is fake news."
Do you enjoy sharing false information about things you know nothing about?
What are you saying I know nothing about?
Your statement: "Everything I dont agree with is fake news." Disagreement with a media source or story doesn't make it fake news, and that's not what President Obama, social media outlets and professional media organizations have derided over the past month. Stories like This, from the Boston Tribune are. According to documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Mrs. Robinson earned the lifetime pension for “services rendered as full-time/in-home caregiver” for granddaughters Malia, 18, and Sasha, 15, during President Obama’s two terms in office.
In January of 2009, it was reported that Mrs. Robinson was living in the White House full-time to tend to her granddaughters. She was the first live-in grandmother at the White House since Elivera M. Doud, the mother of Mamie Eisenhower, during the Eisenhower Administration.
Critics say Mrs. Robinson should not profit from something as simple as taking care of family. Sally Kellner, volunteer/activist for the National Taxpayers Union, says this is a prime example of needless spending. “I think it’s ridiculous that taxpayers must pay this woman a lifetime salary for something everyday Americans do for free. We take care of our families because we love them, not for profit.”
A.) The Boston Tribune is a fictitious new source B.) Although the National Taxpayers Union is an actual organization, citing a "Volunteer/activist" for such an organization - especially one dealing with FOIA's, government funding, etc - is your first clue that it's not an actual story C.) If your uncle on Facebook is sharing stories from "TruthfulUSAGovenrment.net", you can assume it's not true. For further reading: The Boston Tribune is a fake new site that masquerades as the online arm of a legitimate big-city newspaper in order to lure readers with fabricated clickbait stories.
The Boston Tribune article provided links to the general landing pages of the National Taxpayers Union, FOIA.gov, and the Civil Service Retirement System, both those links did not point to any relevant information.
The Former Presidents Act of 1958 provides lifetime benefits for presidents after they leave office. This law also provides some benefits for former first ladies (such as Secret Service protection), but not lifetime pensions for them (or their parents).
As the First Lady does not receive a salary or a pension, it is reasonable to assume that the unofficial position of "first grandma" is also unpaid and is similarly ineligible for a government pension.
The Boston Tribune is an offshoot of the fake Associated Media Coverage web site, which has previously published false stories claiming that Florida store owners killed 31 looters after Hurricane Matthew, that the practice of "open carry" was being banned in the United States," and that convicted murderer Jodi Arias had been released from prison.
