I don't like the concept of locked threads with no discussion. Seems pointless tbh.

They have always said that they are a part of the story 3874

Serious / Re: **Official GOP Debate thread**« on: September 16, 2015, 11:29:01 PM »
The blatant truth behind all these debates is that, until a lot of the lower-polling candidates begin to drop like flies (Pataki, Graham, Jindal, Santorum, Paul, Christie, Walker, Huckabee), we won't have a clear idea as to who is the true front runner. All of these candidates have supporters and fundraisers that are going to be needed going into Iowa, New Hampshire, and beyond.
The Republican base is so splintered right now into it's sections that it is no wonder Trump has gotten as much support as he has. As the base slowly unifies under a smaller conglomerate of people running, we'll get to know whether they want a younger generation (Rubio), a Washington outsider (Trump, Carson, Fiorina), or a Government Official 3877
Serious / Re: **Official GOP Debate thread**« on: September 16, 2015, 11:20:54 PM »Google trends during the debate. Fastest rising searches for each candidate: Jeb Bush: "jeb bush wife" Ben Carson: "how old is ben carson" Chris Christie: "chris christie wife" Ted Cruz: "senator cruz" Carly Fiorina: "lori ann fiorina" (her daughter) Mike Huckabee: "how old is mike huckabee" John Kasich: "governor kasich" Rand Paul: "rand paul net worth" Marco Rubio: "how old is marco rubio" Donald Trump: "donald trump height" Scott Walker: "governor walker" 3878

Serious / Re: **Official GOP Debate thread**« on: September 16, 2015, 11:09:56 PM »idk how you could put jeb in any other position but limbo tbh We'll have to see how he fares in the polls later this week. He had a few good moments that will likely keep him in 3rd, so still alive. The stragglers need to stop dropping. 3881
Serious / Re: **Official GOP Debate thread**« on: September 16, 2015, 10:51:48 PM »So you're basing you're rating off of how they spoke and not their actual policies?Rand: 4/10LOL As a candidate, you have to sell yourself to the voters - especially when you are in an eleven person debate with limited speaking time. It's why Trump has so much support, and it's how Obama won - people don't want someone who is like a senile Grandpa in a retirement home on fourteen types of medication. They want a leader, someone who is energetic and charismatic - and yes, has good ideas. That's how it is in politics these days, whether we like it or not. And it's not like we're talking about a Democrat and Republican in terms of their policies - most of these candidates, in some form, have similar policies. To discern between Rubio, Bush, and Christie is like dividing a hair. Carson did fine, he's very intelligent - but he's not going to catch up with Trump, who is milking it with his charisma, by what he did tonight. Paul is...done. 3882
Serious / Re: **Official GOP Debate thread**« on: September 16, 2015, 10:45:19 PM »Rand: 4/10LOL Rand's become anonymous with his campaign. The guy is polling at the very bottom of nearly every major poll, and it's feeling more and more like he's given up. He had some good lines tonight, but he was lackluster and stale. I doubt he'll be staying in until Iowa - same with Walker (Who will likely end up as Pawlenty), and potentially most of the junior debate. Carson did fine enough. The guy lacks enthusiasm and charisma half the time, and he can come off as very monotone. He did better among the 11, but nothing that is going to help push him to even out with Trump. 3883

From Left to Right
Rand: 4/10 Huckabee: 1/10 Rubio: 7/10 Cruz - 4/10 Carson - 5.5/10 Trump - 5.5/10 Bush - 5/10 Walker - 1/10 Fiorina - 6/10 Kasich - 6.5/10 Christie - 2/10 3884
