Conducted by the Public Polling PolicyBunch of data there, but because I'm a liberal shill, here's the Rachel Maddow graph of the poll! Also from the same poll, over half of Republican voters believe President Obama is a Muslim: Also from the poll, more people believe Cruz was born in the US while President Obama was not:

I can upgrade my phone in October, and I'm honestly 50/50 on whether I will stay with Apple, or jump ship to Android.
Convince me to pick a side.

StoryTwo beloved Virginia journalists were shot and killed Wednesday morning when a gunman opened fire in a shocking moment caught on live television.
Reporter Alison Parker, 24, and cameraman Adam Ward, 27, worked for Roanoke-based news station WDBJ and were broadcasting from Smith Mountain Lake in the community of Moneta when multiple gunshots rang out around 6:45 a.m. Parker screamed and ducked before the camera turned off. Parker and Ward both died at the scene. Vicki Gardner, the executive director of the local Chamber of Commerce who Parker was interviewing at the time, was struck in the back and is in stable condition after undergoing surgery at a local hospital.
Police say the gunman was 41-year-old Vester Lee Flanagan, a former WDBJ reporter who went by “Bryce Williams” on air. Flanagan fled the scene, and law enforcement ultimately caught up to him at around 11:30 a.m., when his vehicle went off the highway and crashed. Officials found Flanagan suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital, but died of his injuries at around 1:30 p.m.
While Flanagan was running from the police, video footage of the attacks from the point of view of the shooter were posted to social media accounts bearing the name Bryce Williams. Tweets sent from the Williams account accused Parker of being “racist” and complained that Ward had once “sent [him] to HR.” Twitter and Facebook suspended the accounts involved.
Parker and Ward, both Virginia natives, were loved and respect by their colleagues and often worked together as a team on assignments. “They were special people. They’d brighten up a room every morning,” anchor Kim McBroom said in a broadcast following the attack. Parker "took on the morning live reporting job with great excitement and vigor" and Ward "was universally loved," WDBJ general manager Jeff Marks told The Associated Press. “My grief is unbearable,” Parker's father told The Washington Post. “Is this real? Am I going to wake up? I am crying my eyes out. I don’t know if there’s anybody in this world or another father who could be more proud of their daughter.”
Shortly after the shooting, WDBJ anchor Chris Hurst revealed on social media that he and Parker had been in a relationship for months and were “very much in love.” He described her as “the most radiant woman I had ever met” and that they had talked about getting married.
Ward had announced his own engagement to WDBJ morning producer Melissa Ott months ago. Ott was in the station’s control room during the shooting and saw it happen live.
Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D) called for stricter gun laws in the wake of the shooting, restating his support for background checks. He made the statement when asked during an online Q&A session whether he would call for tougher gun control as a result of the incident.

X ATHENS, Aug 20 (Reuters) -- Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras resigned on Thursday, hoping to strengthen his hold on power in snap elections after seven months in office in which he fought Greece's creditors for a better bailout deal but had to cave in.
Tsipras submitted his resignation to President Prokopis Pavlopoulos and asked for the earliest possible election date.
Government officials said the aim was to hold the election on Sept. 20, with Tsipras seeking to crush a rebellion in his leftist Syriza party and seal public support for the bailout program, Greece's third since 2010, that he negotiated.
"I will go the president of the republic shortly to submit my resignation, as well as the resignation of my government," Tsipras said in a televised address before he met Pavlopoulos.
Faced with a near collapse of the Greek financial system which threatened the country's future in the euro, Tsipras was forced to accept the creditors' demands for yet more austerity and economic reform -- the very policies he had promised to scrap when he was elected in January.
"I want to be honest with you. We did not achieve the agreement we expected before the January elections," he told the Greek people.
"I feel the deep ethical and political responsibility to put to your judgment all I have done, successes and failures."
His decision deepens political uncertainty on the day Greece began receiving funds under its 86 billion-euro ($96 billion) bailout program, five years after a previous government took the first bailout from the euro zone and IMF.
But a snap election should allow Tsipras to capitalize on his popularity with voters before the toughest parts of the latest program -- including further pension cuts, more value-added tax increases and a "solidarity" tax on incomes -- begin to bite. This may allow him to return to power in a stronger position without anti-bailout rebels in Syriza to slow him down.
Jeroen Dijsselbloem, who chairs meetings of euro zone finance ministers, said he hoped the resignation would not delay or derail implementation of the bailout package.
"It is crucial that Greece maintains its commitments to the euro zone," he said in a statement to Reuters.

Full Story(CNN)Two women are about to make history by becoming the first female soldiers to graduate from the Army's exhausting Ranger School.
They're among the 96 students who will graduate from the intensive training program Friday in Fort Benning, Georgia.
This was the first year the Army opened the course to women on a trial basis.
"This course has proven that every Soldier, regardless of gender, can achieve his or her full potential," Secretary of the Army John M. McHugh said in a statement.
But it's not clear what awaits the female graduates.
Unlike the male graduates, the two women can't apply to join the 75th Ranger Regiment, an elite special operations force.
The Pentagon isn't expected to make final decisions about exactly what combat roles women will be allowed to fill until later this year.
The fact that women aren't allowed to perform certain roles comes as a surprise to many millenials, said Council on Foreign Relations senior fellow for defense policy Janine Davidson.
"This is an important moment and an important week because I see it as reality and perception catching up with each other," said Davidson, a former U.S. Air Force aircraft commander and senior pilot. "Women have been on the front lines in Afghanistan and Iraq. ... So you see policymakers in the Pentagon are ready to say, 'We don't see any reasons why women can't be (in certain roles).'"
Good on them - hopefully they are giving the same respect as all other graduates.

Gonna leave it open ended on this topic since I'm curious to see the stance on it.
Essentially, discuss whether or not you think America has an infrastructure problem. If you feel it does, discuss why we do and what needs to be done to fix it. If you feel it doesn't, why do you believe people say we do?

And so it begins...WASHINGTON (AP) — Texas Sen. Ted Cruz will announce Monday his plans to run for president, becoming the first high-profile Republican formally to enter the 2016 presidential contest.
Cruz has hinted openly at his intentions to seek the White House for months, and his intention to jump into the race was confirmed by a strategist for the first-term Republican senator, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity so as not to preclude the formal announcement.
While Cruz is the first Republican to declare his candidacy, he is sure to be followed by several big names in the GOP, including former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and two Senate colleagues, Kentucky's Rand Paul and Florida's Marco Rubio.
Details about Cruz's Monday campaign launch were first reported by The Houston Chronicle.
Cruz, 44, has considerable appeal among the Republican Party's base of conservative voters.
Following his election to the Senate in 2012, the former Texas solicitor general quickly established himself as an uncompromising conservative willing to take on Democrats and Republicans alike. Criticized by members of his own party at times, he won praise from tea party activists for leading the GOP's push to shut down the federal government during an unsuccessful bid to block funding for President Barack Obama's health care law.
One of the nation's top college debaters while a student at Princeton University, Cruz continues to be a leading voice for the law's repeal. He also promises to abolish the Internal Revenue Service, scrap the Education Department and curtail federal regulators, likening them to locusts.
Cruz has left little doubt about his 2016 intentions in recent weeks. He made his first trip to New Hampshire earlier this month to help lay the groundwork for a presidential campaign, having already begun to ramp up outreach to party activists and donors.
While in New Hampshire, Cruz told voters his daughter, Caroline, had given him permission to join the presidential race in the hopes that the family puppy would get to play on the White House lawn instead of near their Houston high-rise condo.
"If you win, that means Snowflake will finally get a backyard to pee in," Cruz said his daughter told him.
Cruz is set to release a book this summer that he said would reflect themes of his White House campaign.
In a recent Associated Press interview, he said he wants to counter the "caricatures" of the right as "stupid," ''evil" or "crazy."
"The image created in the mainstream media does not comply with the facts," he said.
The son of an American mother and Cuban-born father, Cruz would be the nation's first Hispanic president. While born in Canada, two lawyers who represented presidents from both parties at the Supreme Court recently wrote in the Harvard Law Review that Cruz meets the constitutional standard to run.
Cruz would retain his Senate seat through early 2019 if he fails to win the presidency.

Thus Came the end of his 2016 Presidential Run - Before it Even Began Washington (CNN)Ben Carson says homosexuality is a choice because many people "go into prison straight -- and when they come out, they're gay."
The neurosurgeon and potential Republican candidate for president in 2016 made the comment in an interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo that aired Wednesday on "New Day."
Asked whether being gay is a choice, Carson responded: "Absolutely."
"Because a lot of people who go into prison go into prison straight -- and when they come out, they're gay. So, did something happen while they were in there? Ask yourself that question," Carson said.
That argument, Carson said, "thwarts" the notion that homosexuality isn't a choice, which is at odds with the majority of the medical community, including the American Psychological Association, who says "most people experience little or no sense of choice about their sexual orientation." Slate's Mark Joseph Stern also outlined the scientific arguments against this particular belief last year.
Carson also said he believes the issue of allowing or restricting same-sex marriage should be decided on the state level, rather than by federal courts -- even as the Supreme Court prepares to take up a case this spring that could legalize gay marriage nationwide.
He said it's possible to grant the legal rights that accompany marriage to same-sex couples -- or to any two people at all -- without applying the word "marriage" to their relationships.
"Why do gay people want to get married? Why do they say they want to get married? Because they want to have various rights -- property rights, visitation rights," he said. "Why can't any two human beings, I don't care what their sexual orientation is, why can't they have the legal right to do those things? That does not require changing the definition of marriage."
