which one did you stick with? looking to get one for my bare metal server because a mouse is overkill
I'm feeling pretty attached to the Deft Pro still tbh. It's really grown on me. The HUGE is nice too but the button placement for the Fn1 and Fn2 buttons is kinda awkward. Even besides that I still find the Deft Pro more comfortable. Haven't bothered much with the EX-G at all, just don't have the desire to use it.

The Flood / Re: Creepy things that have happened to you?
« on: December 14, 2020, 11:48:42 AM »
So my roommate when I first moved in around the beginning of December that year had this big 'ol angel fish. This thing in general was always kind of creepy because it would follow you back and forth and just stare at you, constantly, and do absolutely nothing else. It was always just waiting for more food I guess. You could feed it a whole bucket and it would probably try to eat it all if it was physically capable. It didn't have a name because he said his fish always die after giving them names, but we jokingly started calling it the creeper fish.

Anyways my roommate and I were both gone for the holidays, myself for about 3 days, and the tank heater conveniently broke while we were gone. The fish seemed a little off, but we thought would bounce back after installing a new one. Couldn't be further from the truth. The next few months was constant battles with different fish illnesses, medications and treatments I never heard of, and the fish would get slightly better then get worse again. Eventually sometime around April the fish reached a point where it just sort of laid at the bottom of the tank, only occasionally very weakly moving or turning around. Roommate was talking about some other treatment he could try and I had to sort of tell him that this thing was clearly suffering and needed to just die.

Unfortunately it took nearly two weeks from that point for it to actually die, and in its last days you could tell it was really only occasionally gasping. One night after my roommate went to bed, I was sitting at my laptop with the tank in front of me, screen mostly blocking my view. Just a few weeks prior that fish would've been floating near the top of the tank so it could constantly stare into my eyes. It was completely silent apart from the snoring through the wall and bubbling from the tank. And then suddenly, a loud splash and the fish was half a foot above the tank and THUD it hit the ground. Completely fucking lifeless. Just fucking dead. I bang on my roommate's door to wake him up and he thinks I'd just seen a ghost because I was completely pale- in a way I did.

And that was the end of the creeper fish.

Didn't they have a cheese pizza scandal recently? I thought I heard something about it.
That and they have a pretty big problem with revenge porn and reuploads supposedly.

but not giving up either.
correct me if I'm wrong but that doesn't exactly sound like weakness to me
someone who's weak would give up

I suppose since it's all out in the open now I may as well just ask here instead of privately; what was the motivation for constructing the narrative of "visiting Sandtrap's grave" when you could've easily just left it at a more generic friend and/or loved one? Mind you, I'm still trying to figure out how to feel about all this.

Before anyone gets upset or takes the piss, I think it's worth giving him some credit for coming forward when he didn't have to.

Oh yeah, Ian reported a post of mine to the fucking FBI and I got a nice visit from a plainclothes agent. Could've ended up in jail for years if I wasn't a pleasant, polite person. So that was pretty messed up.
...what?

I didn't respond to this part before but:
Well they even knew what type of computer I posted it from. They called my Mom first so maybe there's some kind of identifying information in my post history.
There's this little thing called google analytics. Also I'm assuming you were also probably using chrome and signed into a google account. It's actually extremely easy to track you and your entire browsing and geographic history became of Google's partnership with the feds.

When it comes to the gummi ships, there are definitely some things you just tolerate more or just like more as a child. The appeal isn't the same when I come back to it now, but I think maybe it's because it was also the first game where I could not just fly, but also build a spaceship. So 9-13 year old me thought it was the coolest shit ever. Same thing goes for the light/dark stuff lmao, it was very fake pseudo-deep but it tried to be profound in a way I hadn't been exposed to before.
you ever play r&c? the second game has customizable ships, too, so i feel like if you haven't, you'd probably have a field day with that game, because it has the sickest space battles i've ever seen for a game that isn't entirely focused on them
Not until I was much older, and on a friend's PS3. But yeah, good series. Wish I had it growing up. I did play Spyro and Jak & Daxter though. Loved both of 'em.

I liked KH1 and 2 as a child and I thought the whole "light and darkness" stuff was super deep when I was in middle school. Coming back to it as an adult made me realize how dumb I was. Still, fond memories. Used to be obsessed with making gummi ships in KH2 to the point where people at school would give me their memory card so I could build them something. Had this notebook with graph paper where I'd draw blueprints and shit. I think for the time it was pretty good graphics and gameplay-wise, but this is the PS2 era we're talking about. The Final Mixes from what I understand don't do anything to remaster the graphics besides upscaling and changing some colors for some reason.

This is the closest you'll ever see me come to anime, btw.
haven't tried building gummi ships yet—i didn't like the space missions in the first game enough to even bother, but things seem to have improved a lot in 2

and yeah the dark/light stuff is pretty comical
when i read this flavor passage late into the first game, i almost shat myself:

"Ones born of the heart and darkness, devoid of hearts, ravage all worlds and bring desolation. Seize all hearts and consummate the great heart. All hearts to be one, one heart to encompass all. Realize the destiny: the realm of Kingdom Hearts. The great darkness sealed within the great heart. Progeny of darkness, come back to the eternal darkness. For the heart of light shall unseal the path. Seven hearts, one Keyhole, one key to the door. The door of darkness, tied by two keys. The door to darkness to seal the light. None shall pass but shadows, returning to the darkness. One born of the heart and darkness, hunger for every heart until the dark door opens."

Did you know when I went to Vietnam, they put squid and corn on pizza?

And they give you ketchup packets to eat it with
Fuck it I'd try it, probably just without the ketchup since it's on the side anyway. At least it's not sardines.

Don't worry, once Sep7agon 3.0 rolls out, Ender will no longer be able to break layout, it will be broken by default.
Was about to ask what happened but I think you answered my question.

oh yeah also install Vimium lol
I'm not comfortable enough with Vim yet to have all the keybinds memorized but I'm working on it so I bookmarked it. Still kind of a noob tbh but it'll be cool to reach that point where I can fly around with just the keyboard.

Managed to figure out how to bind freescrolling to the Fn3 key with xinput, but I'm apparently too retarded to get my xbindkeys config for the other two buttons to work. Farting out a bad access error when I do xbindkeys -n -v
...I'll figure it out eventually, I keep getting sidetracked with the other two projects I'm working on.

Do you actually game on PC with a track ball?
Well I haven't tried competitive/first person shooters yet but I play Warframe pretty comfortably.

The majority of the Confederate statues were built in the 20th century by the Daughters of the Confederacy in response to the Civil Rights Movement. Any commemorative meaning behind these statues has only value held in racism, as that is why they were raised in the first place.

We should not have statues in celebration for traitors to the country, as that is what the Confederacy and its legacy is: A heritage of traitorous states that seceded so they could maintain the right to hold people in slavery.
This is basically what I was going to post. The Daughters of the Confederacy, a group also responsible for most of the rewriting about slavery and the civil war in children's textbooks, are the ones responsible for most of the monuments. They should be torn down though a few should also go into museums. Context matters, especially when you consider that most were built during the Jim Crow and Civil Rights eras.

man I hate trackpads
have you ever used those big glass ones that apple sells tho?

they’re next level
My only real experience with apple products was iMacs at high school/college.
Also I'm getting used to the Deft Pro surprisingly quickly, it's actually pretty comfy.
never used used that model before but it looks pretty good
It's a bit weird at first but the button placements are actually pretty nice. I'm gonna have to give a few days trying out the other two but I'm already kinda sold on this one.

Just got these puppies in the mail, couldn't find good reviews that compared them with each other plus everyone seems to have different opinions and I don't know if I prefer finger vs thumb balls so I'm gonna try em out and return the ones I don't like so much. Will report back with my opinions in a few days.

Anyone here have experience with trackballs? Using the Deft Pro right now and wow it's sensitive. Had to crank the sensitivity almost all the way down.
