From what I'm reading of her work she's very articulate.
it doesnt translate to her video presentations, i know that for sure
Actually, the document I was reading turned out to be an interview with her, not a review. I did read her review for Uncharted. It was alright. I haven't played an Uncharted game but the tropes she points out are prevalent in  a lot of the games I've played. I'm usually interested in new or uncommon game experiences, and I think her ideas in that review could be more engaging in addition to making games more generally accessible.

I know what goatse is, but what's the other one?
Google is your friend.
Not in this case.

Her [Anita's] work focuses on deconstructing the stereotypes and tropes associated with women in popular culture as well as highlighting issues surrounding the targeted harassment of women in online and gaming spaces.
This sounds more interesting than deterring to me. What's the consensus on feminism as perceived by media representation and the ideological premise here?
From what I'm reading of her work she's very articulate.
people are very anti-feminist here

except me--i openly identify with feminism
Where do people typically draw the line with misandrism and feminism here; are they identified as identical?

I'd like to be celibate for life. Marrying my profession seems more likely than marrying another person.

You mean these threads in general?
more like: sep7agon in general
Is it fun to watch, or is there a different reason why you stick around?

Neither of you are totally disliked, but in general people seem to respect verbatim more, from what I've noticed.

tbh I'm not sure where all the confusion is coming from.
The title and the article do a pretty good job of that.

It sounds like they're saying law enforcement officers can tell a judge information pertinent to a warrant over the phone or email, text, fax, etc. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with how information is gathered; a warrant wouldn't be issued after a phone has been tapped.
Oh, yeah I started interpreting this section almost completely wrong, thanks for the clarification. Reading the actual document this was the only thing that sent up red flags. This seems more reasonable now.

What interests me most currently is under what conditions a warrant can be requested, to which I found this
Quote
(3) Requesting a Warrant by Telephonic or Other Reliable Electronic Means. In accordance with Rule 4.1, a magistrate judge may issue a warrant based on information communicated by telephone or other reliable electronic means.
What on earth does "other reliable means" even mean? It's no news-flash to me that calls are monitored, but I have yet to know the extent to which monitoring already occurs online. Is anyone particularly knowledgeable in this topic to clarify what "other reliable means" actually means? Perhaps to the extent which online content is already monitored?

I think reading the actual document clarifies this issue.

Actually, I'm more on the fence about choosing between a Rogue and a Ranger currently after reading the new descriptions. Why feats weren't included in class descriptions in 3.5 I'll never know. It's so much easier to read this way.

Hi.

Magic user right?
Yep.
Is there a link to the handbook anywhere?
There's one in the other D&D thread. It worked for Pip, but did not work for me. I acquired it elsewhere. If you have problems with the link Vien left I'll PM you the source I used..

The source used as a link will not work. You have to find an online pdf, use it in .doc form or just use the basic rules I posted.
I'm reading it now. Turns out Wizards finally gave in and realized players just wanted to be half-dragons, so they added the Dragonborn race.

The Flood / Re: Who would win a fight? Halo or Zelda?
« on: May 06, 2016, 03:03:05 PM »
Total copies of games sold (Halo franchise) = 46 million

Total copies of games sold (Legend of Zelda franchise) = 52 million
Total duration of lifetime (Halo franchise) = 15 years

Total duration of lifetime (Zelda Franchise) = 30 years

Spoiler
Wikipedia also tells me Halo has over 65 million copies sold worldwide, and Zelda has sold 62 million copies (as of 2011). Zelda would still have more sold copies, however. I don't know how frequently these wikis update.

Some advice I've received for interviews is "If you're on time you're late," "Cite your achievements more than your interests, though both are important," and "Make sure to look the interviewer in the eye and shake hands after it's over." Oh, and "Smile." That might have been more directed at me in particular though.

Get yo booties in here.
Sorry, I decided to camp in the mountains last night. Did you guys establish a campaign schedule?
Also, if we use Hoard of the Dragon Queen for campaign content I also have the Rise of Tiamat follow-up campaign book.

Nope, nothing until we get a DM.

I wouldn't mind doing Hoard of the Dragon Queen and Rise of Tiamat, but until we get a DM nothing is decided.
Alright, I made a roll20 account, so if we get the ball rolling I'm ready. Should we start thinking about characters now, or is it too early?

I think picking a class would be fine.

Not race or background yet.

I am gonna be a Fighter I think. Battle Master.

Vien wants to be a Paladin/Cleric
I'll adapt if we need a certain role for party balance, but I think I'd like to be a rogue.

I can't tell if he's wielding a modified grenade or a modified rolling pin but either way it looks brutal.

That's the grenade the Halo 3 spike grenade was based off.
I tried looking for the model on google but couldn't find it, so i assumed they made it up. WWI really was a nasty war.
That looks interesting

Glad to see a departure from future shooters
Agreed. I'm still wary to actually consider playing it, but it at least has an uncommon setting and that makes it stand out.

Actual races of the world
Humans.

Welcome, numale.
Oh no, I mean it's not like all humans have an estimated 99.9% similarity in genome or anything, or that people can actually have more genes in common with people of "different race" in other parts of the world than with people of their ethnic group. No, the differential appearance of organisms certainly means they're like different species altogether.
