I don't know a massive amount of the lore/story but I do know that the games are reasonably beginner friendly regarding the story shit. You can pick it up and play it without too much bother to find out the story ingame.

The vague stuff that I do know is this
-You play as Geralt of Rivia, a witcher, who kills monsters and doesn't afraid of anything
-The world is a wartorn medieval shithole full of nasty gribbly monsters that just grape people 24/7
-Non-humans are treated like shit by a lot of humans, witchers are classed as mutants so they get a lot of shit but the whole doesn't afraid of anything takes care of that.
-There is a massacre at rivia in which geralt is killed, somehow comes back to life (Haven't finished TW2 so idk if that's explained) and a whole bunch of non-humans get killed by rioting meatbags
-Everyone talks like a scouser/brummie/unwashed peasant apart from the german fellows who sound german

TW3 specific guess shit
-You are tracking down the lady in the cutscene who survives the middle of a battle with magic shit and uhh you kill a lot of monsters on the way whilst seeing the effects of a big old Category 5 bongarong between two kingdoms

Hmm, well this probably leaves a lot to be desired but that's loosely what I know <.<
Geralt didn't actually "die". Yennefer tried to heal him. Ciri (Geralt and Yen's adopted daughter (the white haired girl from TW3)) can travel between worlds, which she used to teleport Yennefer and Geralt to another world so they can be together.
The Wild Hunt takes Yennefer from that world, Geralt gets mad and follows them back the the world the games take place in (don't know how he does that).
He finds Letho (the big bald Witcher from TW2) while searching for the Wild Hunt, they find them, and Geralt trades himself for Yennefer.
Afterwards he escapes or is let go or something (idk) (he probably escapes somehow which is why the Wild Hunt are after him or something).
He gets amnesia somehow, then TW1 takes place.

Also, the creator of the books doesn't consider the games as canon.

You guys are so funny.

Yep I lie about getting swatted and being related to a random woman. Makes sense.

if I was going to make a "plot line" it would be 1000000 times better than my real life. My life is boring as shit.
Still rolling with the SWAT story?

*thwarted swat story

Thank God the police called first.
So you're still rolling with the made up SWAT story?

Not made up. But thanks for caring :)
It was obviously made up.

US police force wouldn't take notice of an EU phone call (which btw, Britain isn't the only EU location, so there's a hole in your story right away) using the name "Septagon".

And smash is obviously as demanding as halo.
No, it's way more demanding. 60 frames per second, constant shit exploding all over the screen, it's so fast-paced...

Halo: CE might be difficult to process...
...if it was run on N64.
CE was a big open shooter with no loading screens during missions, many enemies fighting you, blowing things up, vehicles flying and driving at you.
So yeah, it was quite a bit more demanding than Smash back then.

Smash could afford to be 60fps because it's literally a few platforms to jump on in a 2.5d perspective.

Seriously though. HCE isn't that great when nostalgia is removed from the equation.
Gameplay is clunky and stiff. The story isn't anything spectacular; it's more of the same "spoopy mysterious space stuff, kill alien bad guys, oh shit plot twist!, and blow stuff up".
A game from 2001 has clunky stiff gameplay? Well I never.
Shut up you whore.
It still hass awful physics and dumb mechanics, even for a 2001 game.

Clunky and stiff? It's just completely fucked. Unbalanced weapons, terrible maps, bad physics... You can't even fall two meters without losing your fucking shields.
You take that back! Halo CE is an infallible masterpiece!

Not to say I don't enjoy the game though, despite its many shortcomings.
And fuck you. Hang 'em High is a good map.

Even the game mechanics were fucktarded. Oh, we have these big fucking suits that weigh megafucktons, but we can't take a tap to the back.
Well that is just for gameplay reasons.
Halo 2 melee pre-patch was beyond pointless.
