As far as reviving goes, it does make sense canonically I guess. I've heard that it's a green ray that comes out of the players wrist or something...I would have preferred being injected with Bio-foam personally.
Gameplay isn't canon. And the suits have had biofoam injectors built into them since MKV. It's just a gameplay mechanic.
