If they were good assassins they wouldn't have been killed by a pirate
They looked like novice Assassins from Brotherhood. I didn't wanna kill them because i hate it when they died from that game.
just knock them out with your fists then?
But then i''ll die
how do you die in an ac game?
it's the same counter window as using a sword

It's an RPG. Role Playing.
I'm just saying--there are good ways to handle it. I've played RPGs where, instead of it asking you if you're a boy or a girl, it'll ask "what is your alter ego" or some shit. That makes more sense to me.

Or, like in Skyrim, where it doesn't ask you anything at all. That's a good way to handle it. Probably the best way.
What's the difference between being asked by the game to pick a gender, and just switching it in the character creation options?

Plus females generally have more detail and attention put into them, whereas guys are just generic looking.
That's your bias showing.
ehh?

It's weird when guys play as girls and vice versa.

If someone chooses to play as someone simply because they find them sexually attractive, they can go fuck themselves.

Femshep is significantly better than Maleshep because Jennifer Hale shits on Mark Meer's voice acting.

Violence in video games (and all forms of media) can and does have a psychological impact on the player, and is desensitizing us to other forms of violence, be it simulated or otherwise.
I honestly don't think very many people deny this.

What people deny is the notion that violent video games will not only make you a psycho killer, but are the primary catalyst of violent behavior. Or that the psychological impact is anything but negligible.

I suppose so. I don't really think it's negligible, though. I can't espouse that nurture often trumps nature in the development of one's personality while also denying that the content of many kids' primary form of entertainment is negligible in that growth, though.
Mentally unstable people are the ones who're affected by simulated violence regardless of the medium. People who are mentally sound can differentiate between the two and know it's not okay to do it IRL.

Kids exposed to violence (games, movies, whatever) won't grow up to be the next Adolf Hitler.

Of course not. But kids and teens are still susceptible to stimuli because their brains are still developing, responding to stressors and figuring out what makes them go away. Conditioning your mind to relax through gratuitous violent content, regardless of the medium, is not particularly healthy.

Adding onto your little bit here, taking into account how hard of a tantrum most young kids throw and older teens rage over video games, likely leaves a lasting mark on their overall patience and temper in irl situations.
It undoubtedly affects behavior, yeah. But unless they're wired to be nutcases from the get go, they'll be fine.

Product placements aren't annoying or bad in any way. In fact, they add immersion.

If you wanted to create an authentic '70s feel?

Yes, it would.
You said set in, not for authenticity.
But still no.

What if you don't like smooth? What if smooth isn't the effect you're trying to go for?
If a developor can get a game to run at 60fps without sacrificing anything, but chooses 30fps, then they're stupid.
Quote
Under your logic, people who are 300 pounds obese are better than people who are 200 pounds of muscle.
Because obese people have "smoother" skin. And "smooth" is apparently intrinsically good.
Nice straw man.
And possibly the worst comparison I've ever seen.

It can't be objectively better. What if I'm making a movie that's set in the '70s?
Should I film it in 60 frames? Really?
For a movie? 48fps. For a game? 60fps.
Quote
30 frames would be objectively better in that context.
No it wouldn't.

Quote
Intrinsically, neither is better than the other. The only thing you can say is that 60 is a "greater" number than 30.
Which is arbitrary. They're just numbers.
Double the frames per second results in a smother, better flowing picture, so yeah it's better.
And it has legroom for dropped frames without being headache inducing, unlike 30fps.

Normal, like a normal person, except for inverted Y axis for flying.
normal people don't normally tilt the back of their heads to the right if they want to look to the right

I knew what I was doing in Halo 3 the entire time: trying to stop Truth and reach the Ark.
There's literally no story advancement until you're 2/3 into the game.
A plot summary on the back of the box =/= story
Reach - everyone knew what happened on Reach.
And then Bungie went and messed it up with Halo Reach by adding the Pointless Crew and contradicting events to make them relevant.

60fps is in NO WAY BETTER than 30fps.
60fps is still objectively better though.

Quote
People who care if a game runs at 60fps are stupid.
Yes and no.
It's silly to disregard good games that are 30fps, but if someone has a gaming PC capable of 60fps+, then it's understandable for people to care.

Christianity isn't peaceful or safe either. The Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition was done in the name of it and when it comes down to your extremist a radical Muslim is no different than a Christian extremist.
Radical Christians protest soldiers' funerals.
If you're referring to WBC, they aren't actually Christians, they just label themselves as such. What they advocate is so far off what the Bible says.
I take it you're just picking and choosing?
How is he? WBC aren't Christians, they're just nutjobs

Kinda related, I tried soya milk today for the first time and damn I was surprised at how good it was.

It's close enough to regular milk that I doubt I'd ever miss it, it's a bit more expensive true but I can definitely see myself buying this stuff more than once >_>
if it's not green cap then it's worthless
That is and always will be tru, thankfully the packaging on this was green so I managed to drink it without killing myself.

Not entirely sure how it'll go in tea though, not really inclined to find out <_<
you are forgiven

You know the kind of guy that does nothing but bad things and then wonders why his life sucks? Well, that was me. Every time something good happened to me, something bad was always waiting around the corner: Karma. That's when I realised that I had to change, so I made a list of everything bad I've ever done, and one by one I'm gonna make up for all of my mistakes. I'm just trying to be a better person.
