I don't understand why people want to spend money on doing stuff like coal mines instead of just making a shit ton of wind farms at sea.
I mean, we're a fucking island. We could blanket the coast with 'em and that's pretty much all the coastal towns done. Blanket the hills in the Pennines and up Scotland way and that's another lot of energy saved.
Like, surely it would do better in the long run to start using that kind of stuff rather than more fossil fuels? Less money spent invading oil-rich countries when we don't need it, less money spent buying and importing the damn stuff. I'm not an economics expert, but a massive overhaul where we begin a slow but steady transition to stuff like that would be much better in the long run, right?
