All open world sandbox games suffer from pacing, because the developers don't control how quickly you advance through the story. That's why linear games have a stronger narrative. However, that doesn't mean MGSV going open world is bad in any way.

I probably shouldn't have been so trigger happy in MGS3. I'm conflicted as to whether The Sorrow is an excellent boss or dumb one because of it.
But hey, I got his camo, so...
Fun fact
In the mountain range (where you have to avoif the Hind), there's a soldier being eaten by a Vulture. If you kill and eat the Vulture, when you face The Sorrow, that soldier and the Vulture will show up and be like "You ate me! You ate me!"
Pretty neat huh
