The Flood / Re: How can tattoos be permanent if life is temporary?
« on: September 21, 2015, 11:25:22 AM »
Aside from the faulty logic, tattoos technically arean't permanent since your body flushes out the ink over time, and you can speed up the process.
The ink is permanently injected into the dermis layer. Your body can absorb the ink very slowly over time causing it to fade a little, and that's it.

A tattoo is permanent unless you opt to get laser removal.
You didn't disprove anything I said, just explained what I already stated. Yeah it's permanent in a sense that you die before it completely fades, but it'll eventually fade if your body does its normal processes over a given period. Laser removal just cuts the time down.
it's 100% permanent. there's nothing technical about it like you made out.
But they're not you homosexual bitchboy. The ink can fade when exposed to UV light, or your immune system eventually filters the ink through your lover iirc. The point is the body will try to get rid of foreign substances, hence the fading. So nah it's technically not permanent.
UV exposure won't make it disappear completely, and you'd be long dead before the time it'd take for your body to naturally absorb and detoxify the ink.
So yeah, it's permanent for your entire life.

I just found a somewhat major spoiler while browsing r/halo...not going to post it even in a spoiler tag unless someone really wants me to.

PM it to me, PM it to me! I love spoilers!
I'll just put it here in spoiler brackets, it is no longer on reddit. You've been warned guys.

Spoiler
The Guardians were created to protect the Forerunners, but now they are controlled by a new master.
i'd hardly call that a spoiler
I guess you're right, considering the Forerunners aren't around (that we know of). There could still be some residing in Path Kethona who survived the Array's activation.
Spoiler
So the Guardians have a new master that isn't Forerunner...Precursor manipulating Chief using Cortana's ghost to activate them? Chief doesn't seem that stupid. And even if MC did activate the first one and it destroyed the population on a colony he wouldn't seek out another.Unless he figures out how to use them for another purpose, maybe against the Flood. But say for the first time Chief activates a Guardian he inadvertently kills thousands of human colonists. That would certainly be something. The guy who is always the savior is mislead and kills thousands. That would certainly be dramatic for his characterization. And I'm also thinking about where the Warden Eternal fits in to this if this sentence is correct. Maybe  he hands control over to the Guardians to Blue Team and Chief, hence the new master.
We know that there are Forerunners that weren't killed by the Array's activation. The IsoDidact being the most notable.
I wouldn't doubt that they're either still alive, had kids during the time between the activation and 2558, or both.

I played a game of BTB Team Snipers on Reach with my friend a few years ago. All of our team quit, and we were on our own. It ended up being me and my friend competing against each other to be in first on our team.

We ended up winning the match too.

and turned Halsey from a conflicted "this is for the greater good" to generic mad scientist.

The only change is that we don't see SPARTAN-II from her perspective anymore, and thus aren't meant to sympathize with her or overlook the fact that she's responsible for the kidnapping, indoctrination, and deaths of at least 75 children. Sure, she sees herself as doing it for the greater good, but everyone else sees her as a mad scientist.
Now I'm just saying, but 75 children as the price to pay to save the universe is laughably nothing.

Maybe it's the 40k in me where 75 million deaths is chump change, but that's not really that horrific going by the body counts courtesy of the covenant.
His point wasn't the number of kids she killed in the process. His point was that Halsey looked like a mad scientist to others, and rightfully so.
Kidnapping, indoctrinating and experimenting on kids isthe kind of thing a mad scientist would do.

Yeah, we knew her intentions were good and all, because we've had her viewpoint on the SPARTAN-IIs, but Kilo-Five isn't from her viewpoint.

Don't get me wrong, Traviss a shit, but the whole Halsey thing is actually fine.

MGR is the absolute best and you're autistic for thinking otherwise.

As a Metal Gear SOLID game? No. As it's own game? Yes.
It isn't a Metal Gear Solid game. It's a Metal Gear Rising game.

It dropped the Solid for a reason-because it's a spinoff.

Still a better story than Halo 4.

>Halo 4's story
>Not good

pick one

I choose both.
It wasn't really enjoyable. I was tired of Cortana's bitching at that point.
What bitching? She said a lot of random stuff because she was literally thinking herself to death, but she wasn't bitching.

The only aspect of Halo 4's story I didn't like was Del Rio, he exists as a "fuck you" to Chief, and really he did nothing wrong in leaving Requiem and shouldn't have lost command of Infinity.
Otherwise, it's good stuff.

Del Rio was an idiot. It does not take a genius to figure out that two people are not going to randomly halucinate the same thing at the same time, Or at least they'd find it a little strange that said "hallucination" told them about some artifact that you helped dig up and they would have no way of even possibly knowing about prior to that.
He was an idiot gor taking the lives of the thousands of crew members aboard his ship into consideration, and not wanting to risk their lives fighting a crazy ancient alien?

what do you bois think of the new frigate design they pushed in halo 4?
Terrible, and jarring, considering Halo 4 starts in FUD, yet looks absolutely nothing like what it looked like in Halo 3. I spent about ten minutes after that cutscene just trying to figure out how the ship feel apart to end up looking the way it did. Then I realized, "Oh, they just made it... A completely different... Type. Of. Ship."
It was changed solely for gameplay reasons, because of how small the actual FuD is. The Halo 3 design is still the canonical version.

What were the artists even thinking when they decided to make that Wraith Design. It's putrid.
idk, i like it. it's got a more insectoid than the original wraith, and kinda reflects that jul's remnant faction is a shitty little war-era covenant wannabe

The insectoid thing does seem to be a thing with the rebel covenant. I mean just look at the harvester, or how their armor makes them look like roaches
The armour used by Jul's faction is an ornamental design which is traditional to Hesduros.
