Gaming / Re: Should I get MGSV for 360 this December?
« on: September 24, 2015, 02:09:46 PM »

buying a game based on its frame rate alone is akin to buying a book based on its words-per-page
(which would be asinine)

I have to disagree.
If the words are so small it's a bother reading I won't be purchasing the book.
that's not even a remotely good comparison

You're right, it wasn't.
It's not even in the same ballpark.

A book with unreadable text is flat out shit. Period.
A game that is 30fps can still be a great game.

Just looked it up. It honestly doesn't sound that bad-not something I'd buy, though.

I get to be a legend in the eyes of those that live on the battlefield, only to die from FOXDIE (question mark) in a graveyard after talking to my depressed clone.

If they don't release something in 2017, then congratulations. But I doubt it.
Halo 3 Anniversary.

It's inevitable.

If they rewrote the plot, or at least added more terminals to make the plot make sense and had blur cinematics done, I'd actually be okay with that.
They definitely won't rewrite the plot (sadly) if when it happens.

a better campaign than 1, 3, and 4.
lol

Even Halo 3 had a better story than Reach. And Halo 3 is one of the weakest in the entire franchise, and only beaten by Reach for the worst in the franchise.

200- Halo Wars and ODST
2010- Reach
2011- CEA
2012- Halo 4
2013- Spartan assault
2014- MCC
2015- Halo 5, Spartan Strike
2016- Halo Wars 2

2018 (presumably, Halo has a generally three year development cycle) - Halo 6

If they don't release something in 2017, then congratulations. But I doubt it.
If we're counting main series games only (developed by bungie/343i), it's
2009 - ODST
2010 - Reach
2012 - Halo 4
2015 - Halo 5

The Spartan games and the remasters don't really count and the Wars games aren't main series.
ODST and Reach aren't main series either.

And to this day, Door still believes he has valid opinions regarding Halo
I'll openly admit what I look for in FPS games is different from others

To be air, most of the MJOLNIR GEN2 armour designs do look like shit. I mean, I kind of like the newer Covenant and Forerunner stuff, but it took me a long time to get used to the new covenant.

But yeah, Halo 5 is stated (a guy on r/halo leaked it from the internal beta) to have 175 armours. There's no way you can get that kid of diversity without making a few bullshit ones.
175 armour combinations, meaning there's 175 helmet and body armour combinations

MGR is the absolute best and you're autistic for thinking otherwise.

As a Metal Gear SOLID game? No. As it's own game? Yes.
It isn't a Metal Gear Solid game. It's a Metal Gear Rising game.

It dropped the Solid for a reason-because it's a spinoff.

Which is why I respect it as it's own game, whenever I think of a SOLID game, I think of Big Boss or Solid Snake.
your posts hurt to read

Also, the only bad ass thing about 4 was the mech fight. Every single other thing can go to hell, and I'm sure Kojima hated it himself.
aren't you the resident mgs4 shill?

4224
what do you bois think of the new frigate design they pushed in halo 4?
Terrible, and jarring, considering Halo 4 starts in FUD, yet looks absolutely nothing like what it looked like in Halo 3. I spent about ten minutes after that cutscene just trying to figure out how the ship feel apart to end up looking the way it did. Then I realized, "Oh, they just made it... A completely different... Type. Of. Ship."
It was changed solely for gameplay reasons, because of how small the actual FuD is. The Halo 3 design is still the canonical version.
Pillar of Autumn has ridiculous scale changes for The Maw, but nobody cared.
Except the PoA didn't have a ridiculous design, and you never used the exterior as a play space
What are you saying had a ridiculous design? I'm saying there wasn't a single point in changing the design of FUD in Halo 4, they could've just scaled it differently, like the do with a ton of shit in Halo.
The actual FuD has a ridiculous design.

If there wasn't a point in changing it just for H4's first level, then they wouldn't have changed it. There were multiple reasons 1) size, and 2) to provide a more interesting playspace i.e the huge area on the exterior with the missile silos.
The H3 version doesn't have an exterior that you could play on even if they scaled it up like the H4 version does because of how it's designed.

It's such a non-issue anyway.
