Cosmetic microtransactions are fine.

But your opinions aren't even your own, or even valid either.

You're crying about FO4 having simplified skills and (incorrectly) making out that FO1 and 2 have deep skills.

Pull your head out of your fucking arse and form your own opinions instead of being an echo chamber.

besides--nothing is stopping you from making your own game
Besides the money, the tools, a team, capability etc etc

Creating mods for a pre-existing game and creating a game are two very different things.

Plus creating their own game would possibly be limiting to what they could otherwise achieve through mods, because their game wouldn't be close to the technical level of said pre-existing game.

The "just make your own" argument has never been valid.

Cheat can literally rub this forum into people's faces if he ever complains about shitty websites and gets told the "Well if you're such an expert why don't you make one?" line.

Out of context here, I know.
Making a website and making a game aren't really comparable

Gee there sure is a lot of coding around here.
There's more to creating games than code

But both certainly start in the code. Gotta know what you're doing for sure.

Like I said firstly, though. Out of context.
why even make your first post if you know it isn't relevant?

you've yet to explain how it doesn't ruin it yet, though
Ruining something implies the original was objectively better, and that the original is gone.

Neither of these are true.
Quote
i literally never said this
Your argument has been that modding is just a way of devs doing less work, and that they should've added the things that make sense themselves.
Quote
me
that's my argument
Alright. That means nothing.
If games are "supposed" to stay the same, then there'd be something stating as such other than what some edgy guy on the internet thinks.
But there isn't, so you have no argument here.

The Flood / Re: I looked at the the top online times of users
« on: October 05, 2015, 01:36:06 PM »
It's not hard if you keep your computer on all day.
But doesn't it only account for 15 minutes and only resets that timer when you refresh?

Not from what I've seen. That list down at the bottom is just who's been active in the last 15 minutes. The time spent online is how much time you've been logged in.
But I keep myself always logged in, and my computer stays on.

How do we explain people like Oss then?
Time online doesn't go up if you're logged in but inactive. You need to be active.

Amazon is literal hell on Earth to work for. Best to avoid them.

I applied for McDonalds too, is that much better

Probably, to be honest.

Are you talking about grunt work, or an office job? Office jobs at Amazon are basically white collar Lord of the Flies, pure toxic environment with 80 hour work weeks demanded of you.

If you're talking about grunt work, then keep in mind that Amazon is known to line up ambulances outside their warehouses so they can just work their drones until they pass out from heat exhaustion then just cart them out and replace them. They will literally work you to death without a second thought if they can get away with it.
It was warehouse stuff. I don't think I'm gonna go for it.
Warehouse work is shit and generally full of complete nobheads

Yes. Because you crying "it's ruining it" is much better.
Quote
maybe it's a good thing not to have every conceivable thing in your game
you think of that?
Damn I hate hyperboles.

Only a few posts ago you were saying devs should add everything that makes sense within the games context into the game.

They can't. It's not possible.
Quote
yeah they do

games should remain the way they are
Says who?
There's nothing that states as such.
Quote
if the developers want to add more shit, they have patches and DLC at their disposal

even though DLC is another scam that i hate
Which costs time, money and effort.
You can't have one thing and say the things required to get those things are irrelevant.

Your argument has more holes than Halo 3.

Gaming / Re: Is it bad that I have Adult Mods on Skyrim?

It's not misusing if the devs want you to mod
i wouldn't enter a house if the owners were okay with random strangers pissing all over the walls
this metaphor would only work if modding affected every copy of the game

Gaming / Re: Is it bad that I have Adult Mods on Skyrim?

then the game is ruined
It isn't, though.

Quote
time/money/etc. is irrelevant

it doesn't justify mods
They're so irrelevant besides being the reason why devs don't put every conceivable thing in their games.

It's good to know that you understand that your argument isn't realistically applicable.

Mods don't need justification.

there is nothing creative about ruining art

there is nothing creative about turning a dragon into thomas the tank engine
that is just plain retarded
Nothing is being ruined. At all.
Quote
i don't care

that doesn't justify mods
So you admit you don't have a valid argument?

Multple Covenant ship classes are bigger than the Reapers.

Sovereign Class Reapers are the biggest Reapers. Other Reaper classes are smaller than that.

Most Covenant ship classes are bigger than most Reaper classes.

]adding shit that doesn't make sense in the context of the base game is piss
"i hate creativity"

Quote
adding shit that DOES make sense in the context of the base game is doing dev's work for them
It literally isn't. At all.
Developers can't add everything that could make sense within the context of the game. It just isn't possible, due to reality, time and money.

You're argument is basically "developers should transcend reality and do things that aren't realistically possible".
That isn't a valid argument.

Gaming / Re: Halo universe vs Mass Effect universe
« on: October 05, 2015, 11:51:53 AM »
Even if a MAC round can total any ship from Mass Effect, they can only take down one ship every few seconds. Yes, numbers make a difference.
Considering a fully charged MAC can rip through two Covenant ships (which are significantly more advanced than even the UNSC's more advanced ships) and knock out the shields of a third, they'd have no issue taking out multiple Mass Effect ships.
Not to mention multiple UNSC ship classes have multiple MACs.
Quote
Getting reinforcements more quickly than the other team doesn't mean anything? Maneuvering in-battle more efficiently doesn't mean anything? More easily regrouping doesn't mean anything?
They're ships. You don't need to send one to get reinforcements. They have communication relays.
Maneuvering is only slightly advantageous, considering that UNSC and Covenant ships would still be able to take them out because again, they have significantly better tech.

Plus have you seen how incompetent the ME Universe is when it comes to flying ships?
Quote
Didn't it take a planet-scarring weapon to down one of them? That comes up a lot when Mass Effect is involved.
They also took out Sovereign by attacking it with their shitty ships.
Reapers are only somewhat powerful in the context of the ME universe.
Quote
Takes a fuckton of resources, but yeah, they could.
Resources aren't even being considered for either side in this thread, so what's your point?
Quote
The Covenant's infantry are piss weak, though. Then again so are Mass Effect's.
Hardly.
Especially not against ME's laughable ground forces.
Quote
Same as above. They could tear apart any ships Mass Effect can send their way, but only one at a time. And Mass Effect has a lot of ships.
One at a time?
What?
Covenant ships aren't only equipped with one gun. They're outfitted with multiple, all of which would tear through ME's ships.
Quote
Didn't say they could win. Just hold them off. And clearly not both at once.
Oh please. They almost got destroyed by the Reapers.
Having the Reapers on their side is only a minor increase in their overall power.

which is having your fanbase do your work for you
giving people creative freedom to add stuff to the game that otherwise wouldn't be in the game because it doesn't fit within the context of the base game =/= having people do your work for you.

changing the dragons in skyrim to thomas the tank engine isn't doing the developer's job for them.
changing the dialogue sound files to bill cosby isn't doing the developer's job for them.
