Okay, if this game ends like Halo 2 I think I'm gonna be pretty upset. Notice in the trailer how it says "Experience the BEGINNING of the greatest hunt in gaming history"? Or am I just interpreting that wrong?
It's obviously going to span multiple games.
The Locke chasing Chief arc will be finished by Halo 5's ending though. I can guarantee you this, because it's pretty obvious.
Eh, I just don't want a huge cliffhanger. 343 says this game will change the galaxy in HUGE ways. I can see it now, whatever the threat is that Chief is trying to stop, Locke will realize this at the end of Halo 5. They'll team up. The end.

Glad you mentioned that. Linear games such as Halo 5 are always short. It's not until you get to big RPGs where it's really long, when in actuality, the game may not be that long story wise, but all the time you spend wandering around and doing things, adds up.
I hope one day, a studio gives us a fairly lengthy linear game. Imagine if Halo 5 was 30-40 hours? Now, making a game like that would be hard, and they'd have to be really careful with the story, not to pad it out and throw in filler. But I'd be willing to try it.
40 hour Halo = No cliffhanger 
Nobody would want to play 40 hours of the same linear game . A cliff-hanger in Halo 5 is unavoidable, unless they decide to downsize the plot and story and rush it in an 8 hour game.

They've slowly been weeding out non-Destiny players for like a year or so now. At first they stopped non-Destiny players posting in #Feedback and #Destiny. Then they locked everyone out of their account if they signed up using Facebook or Gmail, instead of XBL or PSN.
Now they've taken the final step to cut off non-Destiny players.

By the time Forge comes out, the "verdict" on the future of Halo will already be decided. The future is already bright looking (for MP at least) given the very positive feedback of both Arena and Warzone. Yeah, there isn't one. "i'm going to disregard all the things you just said to suit me" Just like there's no incentive for developer to pull-through on DLC when you've already bought the Season's Pass. There is an incentive though, if you want consumers to keep buying your products, that is. The game is releasing pretty early for a Halo game Halo CE - November 15th Halo 2 - November 9th Halo 3 - September 25th Halo Wars - February 27th ODST - September 22nd Reach - September 14th Halo 4 - November 6th so I don't know why they'd do that if they're not ready, also. Why they're releasing it in October? Because 343 don't decide release dates. This isn't a difficult concept to understand. They flat-out said in an update that they were "putting every able body on fixing the MCC".

The game was pushed out the door to hit Halo 2's anniversary. Because Halo 5 is more important. If 343i already has your money, then why would they need to put effort into forge? it's cheaper not to. Besides the fact that there's a lot of pressure on 343 to pull through on Halo 5, and Halo 5 being the game that could make or break the franchise at this point. But sure. No incentive. If they had no incentive to make it good, they wouldn't have delayed it for 6 weeks to get it ready. Why do you think the MCC was broken for so long? They already had your money. Because 343 didn't even develop the MCC, and because it was a complete mess, and had only a small team dedicated to pushing updates and fixes, whilst the core 343 team was already balls deep in development for Halo 5.

MGSV should've been cheaper then. It's not like they're releasing it a few weeks after in a fully polished and finished state completely free of charge or anything... Oh, wait a second. What would be better? Having it crammed in in an unfinished state just to keep people happy just for them to cry about it because it isn't 100%, or for them to push it back a few weeks to get it in a fully functioning state with minimal bugs and other issues. I know which I'd prefer. Halo 5, even without Forge, offers more content than most other games do these days.
