The UI is very functional and easy to navigate, except the games and apps section being an app there are very little issues
I know right? I hate Xbox so much that I own a 360 and my Xbone arrived today. Not liking a terrible UI doesn't mean I hate Xbox you moron. It's a cluttered mess, and they made everything an app for God knows what reason. Win8 is a tablet OS and it should have stayed like that.

Plenty of great next-gen games out there that aren't exclusive, plenty of great exclusives already (SSO, Forza Horizon 2, MCC [most problems are now beginning to disappear, SP is flawless and online games are working now, customs are workable-and of course ODST is coming free],etc...), the ability to play with friends, the great exclusives that are coming in 2015, the fact that once this year is gone the last-gen consoles are practically dead and-this may not interest or perhaps it may annoy you-but it works FANTASTIC as an entertainment centre, especially with Kinect
ODST is only free to those that played MCC whilst online between MCC launch and December 19th.
Which is most people, and they've said that they are looking at ways for those that got it later to get the ODST campaign too (aka as paid dlc)
I don't know if you're aware of this, but Christmas just happened. That'll be a fuck ton of people not getting it for free.
