I'm sorry the series ended on a low note for you. Personally, I thought it was a worthy conclusion to a great story, and I'm glad that it never continued only to go downhill like so many other tales.
Halo 3 in general isn't that good. The plot/story is pretty weak for most of the game, and only really becomes somewhat good near the end of the game. Bungie's Halos took a steep dive after 2 (ODST being an exception). The story did go downhill, but Halo 4 bought it back up.

There's absolutely no reason for MS changing the headset jack on Xbone controllers.
Yes there is, how about the fact that the audio quality is so, so much better, and the fact that you can control your headphone/mic via the controller. It's like the difference between the old iPhone charger and the lightning cable, throws up similar problems too

There's always been mic/headset controls too. That's not a new feature.

There's no law saying we can't tip them on top of their reliable income. If you do good, then you'll get a tip on top of your wages, if you do bad, then you're still getting an income that you can live off of. Tipping isn't expected here because waiters actually get payed.
