Swapped out the card. Got a 660 instead. It has the six pin Supplementary power connector. As soon as I got the card in, the computer booted just fine.

It's a near straight across trade.
A new mobo wouldn't have really been worth the trouble. Nor do I feel like waiting another week to get that. Nor do I feel like driving three hours to the closest Fry's. I've already been out of gpu power for 4 days and I really cannot wait any longer.
A new MoBo would have been a better option. You'd be able to upgrade in the future to multiple better GPUs without hassle.
