Okay. Here is what I really don't get. Why the fuck is the Arbiter helping Locke? In Halo 3, Arbiter is the Chief's Ally, what caused him to just turn the table on Chief all of a sudden? We don't know that. For all we know, Thel is helping Locke because he thinks Locke is just trying to bring him back. This is the far more likely scenario if you watch the two Halo 5 cutscenes in the MCC. causing ONI to be an enemy of the UNSC, that only makes the cannon even more problematic. ONI aren't enemies of the UNSC.

And as for the current story, what is Chief the villain now? He's not a villain. He never has or will be. In the past, Chief wanted to save many people as he can Nothing has changed. Now after losing Cortana he decides to go rouge and will kill the very organization that trained him and has been on his side for years? Umm, no. He's not going to kill the UNSC or ONI.
