Spoiler Like honestly. Just go watch the entire episode, and if you still don't like it, I'll be shocked. Literally everyone I've shown it to has loved it, because it's amazingly written. American sitcoms are really bad in almost every case, and Community is no exception to this.
American comedy is generally pretty bad and feels so forced and cringy when trying to be funny.
You probably watched one from season four. Dan Harmon left after S3 and then came back for S5 onwards, so the 'gas leak year' as it's called in-universe is really terrible.
It sounds like an excuse, but it's the truth. And anyway, this isn't about American comedy, DH's works pretty much transcend that. Ever heard of Rick and Morty? Great show by him that's almost as good as Community.
But whatever, I can't get you to like a show you're committed to disliking. Pretty much every episode from seasons two and three are gold. If you're paying attention, Remedial Chaos Theory is a fucking experience. You're lucky to get the show on Netflix, so you should really just give it another chance and watch that episode when you get around to it. Worst case scenario, 21 minutes of your life is wasted. Big deal.

I've seen other parts of it other than just the first episode. It was all badly written forced comedy, like 99% of American comedy. If you actually think this is deep and well thought out then I feel sorry for you
