At least Microsoft pulled the first move I've been waiting for the Xbone to catch up on exclusives...
But this isn't a good thing. It's shit like this that's the reason the industry is so fucked.
And it's not catching up on exclusives by having early exclusive access that MS no doubt gave EA a truck full of cash to get.
I hate exclusives and early access but it's never going away. I'd rather have a few days early or a month early than a year, or permanent. The bright side to this is they won't pull any other crazy exclusives.
Although this is bad news, because I'm sure they are going to pull some stupid season pass or pay service out of their ass if this is the road they are heading. I'm just happy that it's not a crazy long or permanent exclusive is what I'm saying.
Exclusives themselves aren't inherently bad. First party exclusives and funded/joint third party exclusives are okay, because they aren't bought. Stuff like this though is bad. The length of the exclusivity is irrelevant. I know it's not going away, but that doesn't justify supporting it.
