My problem with pre-ordering is the bullshit it now contributes to, not pre-ordering itself. If ir didn't harm the industry then I wouldn't give a fuck. Season passes are the worst offenders, essentially pre-ordering content that should be free or already included-that's ridiculous and has a far, far greater impact than pre-ordering a game just to take advantage of a price cut and pre-loading. I already acknowledge that thosee things are hurting the industry too. These don't detract from the problem that pre-ordering causes and aren't the discussion at hand.

I ignored it because it was shit. Story absolutely can justify an appearance of a character, for obvious reasons that I shouldn't even have to mention because they're so fucking obvious. If the story didn't have the human/machine element (A BIG PART OF THE STORY), then her appearance wouldn't be justified by the story. But the game does have that element, thus IT JUSTIFIES HER MORE HUMAN APPEARANCE TO EMPHASIS THE FUCKING STORY ELEMENT THAT IS A BIG PART OF THE GAME.

im pretty sure she can manifest herself in whatever form she chooses. She's not a physical being so she doesn't have to choose to look however.

Not buying games hurts the industry. Not once did I say don't buy the game(s), I said pre-ordering only hurts the industry. The games industry is worsening as pre-orders fall, that does not reflect what you are saying. What it reflects is people are rightfully losing faith because companies are screwing people over. Game sales falling because people are losing faith is a direct result of pre-ordering. Pre-ordering isn't the problem, the problem is simply that gaming has moved from something secular and strange to most to the biggest and most profitable form of entertainment on the planet, it's not devs making games for the true players anymore, it's companies and board members releasing games to make a shit-ton of cash off casual gamers. I know pre-ordering in itself isn't inherently the problem. It's what the companies are doing because of people pre-ordering (bullshit pre-order "bonuses", day one DLC etc etc) that's the problem. Therefore pre-ordering is bad. Pre-ordering is just a way to get what you want quicker. That's still not a justification. Adding to the shit just to get your hands on a game a few hours early isn't a worthwhile trade-off. All you're doing is hurting yourself by hurting the industry.

I'm going to wait until it comes out before I let people who will always assume a game to be terrible and have a toxic attitude or rabid fanboys who will always assume something to be incredible tell me whether it will be good or not.
Am I excited? Yes. But I'm not putting my money on anything, or ruling out putting it down, before I make up my mind on my own.
Not going to let people who are relentlessly negative or those who are fanboys decide for me.
I don't always assume games will be terrible. Battlefront was one of the few games I was really looking forward to this year.

Make it so that anything past the 3rd level of quotes isn't even recorded. That way when you're responding to a longer quote chain, you don't have to scroll down forever to get to the bottom.
Bungie did that on b.old and it worked well, but it was 5 levels instead.
