If the game stayed to its roots on PC, we'd probably get what we were first given. Doubtful. You know, because they had to develop the rest of the game outside of that sectioned off showcase.
Well yeah and no, but you really think if they developed it just for PC, we'd get something which looks a substantial amount better then what theyre showing us now? They also had a lot of things to showcase back then.....
I really think Devs should just hold off till theyre confident what they show us is what we get.

I'm not saying it wouldn't look better than what it already does. I'm saying that it would never have looked like that smoke and mirrors showcase reveal.
The resources put into small showcases aren't viable for the full game, you know, because they need to actually be able to create a full game.
Which is just annoying, why showcase something that will never see the light of day, hell I might still buy the game eventually, but I just wish the gaming community was still less filled with lies.

Of course the game was downgraded. Games never look like the original reveals.
And the comparison to TW2 isn't valid. TW2 is a significantly more linear section by section RPG. TW3 is a huge open world.
