Also as me and my brother discovered, it is worth killing the black knights, but you have to get lucky - we both had fantastically fun playthroughs because of it.
— And in DS2, did anyone else roll full Vengarl's with powerstanced greatswords? that's how you make the game fun. 103

Just want to say that I agree a lot with Sandtrap:
And most importantly, right now, you're in a section of the game that I call the make or break point. Admitedly, Dark Souls starts off slowly in a bit of a slump. And this is because you're still dealing with the difficulty slope and learning the game. And this seems to hold true for most people, generally. As of yet, you have no direction and little in the sense of a goal.I was stuck on the berg and Taurus demon for a good 5 hours on my first playthough, nothing I did worked and even quadrupling my level didn't help much, it took at least 5 hours for me to finally beat him and I was really starting to regret buying the game at that point; but afterwards, goddamn did I begin to enjoy it, once you're good enough at handling enemies and bosses you can start looking for the more subtler parts of the game and just overall enjoy it more ince you're not frothing with rage at the same section - at that point if you're sick of one area you just walk somewhere else and on the way find something wonderful, you never know what but once you find it you're glad you did. 104
Serious / Re: God I really hate Clinton« on: January 21, 2016, 07:46:10 PM »He is literally running on name alone. He is literally running on his business career, if you are going to call that "name alone" then Clinton is running on "name alone" as well you hypocrite. You said the problem was that Trump was running on "name alone", now you're saying the problem is that he doesn't have "political experience", that's some impressive backpedaling. 105
Serious / Re: Oscar actors so statistically representative« on: January 21, 2016, 06:01:22 PM »You're missing a lot of people. Like, a lot. Hattie McDaniel (Gone With the Wind) won an academy award as far back as 1940.It's only the past two decades, you go back further and the politics become in-twinned with the cold war and civil rights movement; I'm not even going to pretend that I know enough to talk about that time. 106

Serious / Oscar actors so statistically representative« on: January 21, 2016, 05:55:08 PM »
Blacks make up roughly 13% of the US population, so the actors who won Oscars should reflect that if no discrimination is involved, going chronologically from 1995 we have:
1997: Cuba Gooding Jr. 2002: Denzel Washington 2002: Halle Berry 2005: Jamie Foxx 2005: Morgan Freeman 2007: Forest Whitaker 2007: Jennifer Hudson 2010: Mo'Nique 2012: Octavia Spencer 2014: Lupita Nyong'o That is, (10/80) * 100% = 12.5% of actors who won Oscars are Black, funny how 12.5% ~ 13% As for directors 1999: Steven Spielberg 2000: Sam Mendes 2003: Roman Polanski 2008: Ethan Coen, Joel Coen 2012: Michel Hazanavicius (5/20) * 100% = 25% Jewish, despite Jews only being 2.2% of the population. #OscarsSoJewish 108

Serious / Re: There's new evidence of a Neptune-sized planet beyond Pluto« on: January 21, 2016, 05:05:30 PM »Fascinating stuff but having blue balls for the next five years isn't something I'll enjoy. Quote One telescope can help: Subaru, an 8-meter telescope in Hawaii that is owned by Japan. It has enough light-gathering area to detect such a faint object, coupled with a huge field of view—75 times larger than that of a Keck telescope. That allows astronomers to scan large swaths of the sky each night. Batygin and Brown are using Subaru to look for Planet X—and they are coordinating their efforts with their erstwhile competitors, Sheppard and Trujillo, who have also joined the hunt with Subaru. Brown says it will take about 5 years for the two teams to search most of the area where Planet X could be lurking. 112
