Lag switching is an old outdated practice that can hardly be done these days especially on newer consoles and the like. Usually involved a nifty little piece of equipment, go figure, it was a switch.
Flip it and your internet connection would go apeshit. For people on the end of you, you essentially injected Australia into your connection.
