Should have just killed it. The worms writhing in it's stomach will send it on its way in a much crueler fashion.

stegs are smaller dinosaurs that would still provide a substantial meal.

A Stegosaurus would put up a considerable fight, and without the ability to restrain one with your arms while chomping down, you're going to either die or get seriously injured.

Quote
You also have to account for reptilian appetites, they can survive far longer on much smaller reserves of food.

Fair point.

Quote
They survived until the mass extinction, that's proof enough that they didn't have trouble wrecking other dinos.

Yeah... by being scavengers.

Stegs would get hella rekt. You don't have to hold something down with your arms to kill it. Considering the size of t-rex jaws it would be quite simple to administer a killing blow.

They would have a seriously hard time being scavengers. Most other predators at the time killed much smaller prey that wouldn't sustain such a large creature.

Apex predator, ALL HAIL THE KING BABY!

Point is the arms aren't essential equipment for slaying punk ass dinos.

And my point is, that if the T-Rex settles for bit-sized dinos, he isn't going to survive. He either,

  • needs to slay larger dinosaurs (a feat rendered impossible by his short arms, poor vision and lackluster physical ability)
or
  • needs to eat many bite-sized dinosaurs very frequently, which is a logistical nightmare given the speed of said dinos and the physical energy required to do so.

Checkmate.

I said larger than himself, stegs are smaller dinosaurs that would still provide a substantial meal. You also have to account for reptilian appetites, they can survive far longer on much smaller reserves of food.

Lackluster physical ability is a theory, as is the poor eyesight angle. While I'm no expert in this it clearly isn't important becaaauussse...

They survived until the mass extinction, that's proof enough that they didn't have trouble wrecking other dinos.

Not when you consider the size of the prey animals.

For the T-Rex or the Alligator?

Because a predator like the Tyrannosaurus that only eats bite-sized prey is not going to survive.

Alligators generally attack prey that are as large or larger than themselves.

Pretty sure T-rexes weren't fucking with anything bigger than them. A T-rex mouth is pretty damn big, plus the large size of the head could easily pin most dinosaurs.

Point is the arms aren't essential equipment for slaying punk ass dinos.

It's not like these niggas need arms, they were just there to pick shit tier dinosaurs out of their teeth.

It's kind of hard to restrain your prey without appendages.

[Don't] Try biting into a cat with just your mouth.

You're assuming for some reason that their prey could get away from them once they latch on.

Alligators have been doing it for centuries. They don't use their arms in any capacity for prey.

Proportionately speaking, an alligator's jaw is a bit bigger than a T-Rex's.

Not when you consider the size of the prey animals.

Nah, my main man was ballin. I don't buy the poor vision theory, this dude was built to destroy.

Even without the poor vision, those arms are a literal handicap.

Face it, the T-Rex was garbo.

Hmm. TYRANT MUFUCKING KING BABY!

An opportunistic predator to be sure, but there's no denying the evolutionary disadvantage those arms and vision imposed on the species.

At the very least they want to fuck em.

The Flood / Re: When's the hardest you've been punched?
« on: April 02, 2016, 09:35:49 AM »
The first time I showed one of my friends Fight Club, he went through this whole phase where he would try to start fights with everybody, asking people to hit him as hard as they could and shit. Usually, nobody ever listened--except for a few girls, interestingly enough. He asked me to do it once. I refused, but he just kept insisting. I told him, "You know what? Let's compromise: I'll let you hit ME as hard as you can, and we'll see what happens from there."

He then proceeded to hit me as hard as he could, on the shoulder. It hurt, so I hit him back in the same spot. I asked him if he still wanted to fight. He meekly said no--just what I expected.

it was dumb as fuck

You must hit pretty hard.

Life isn't an anime, grow the fuck up.
SHUT UP YES IT IS

You probably don't even own a giant robot.

is it because mecha are utterly impractical and everything they do a conventional tank can do better and cheaper?

I don't see tanks throwing nukes fam

Yeah but we could have had it. With the added bonus of a more stable firing platform that isn't likely to tip when firing a powerful gun :^)

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/W54

Get that low yield shit outta here. We need city destroyers.

When would you ever need a city destroyer and an ICBM wouldn't work?

Edit: The W58 was used in the davey crockett nuke so I do't get your point
ICBMs are for strategic use. So-called "backpack nukes" are for tactical use.

yeah but you listed a w58

A w58 was used in the DC nuke I listed before so I don't get what you're trying to prove

Still doesn't provide any reason why a walker would be preferable over a tank or a squad of infantry.

A large bipedal weapons platform equipped with a railgun could launch larger yield nuclear devices much further than the weapon you listed.
