From a purely rational standpoint, depends on the context.
From a moral, spiritual and otherwise humanitarian standpoint, always no.
maybe if you're a psychopath
I'm pretty sure a psychopath would laugh at you if you ignored your friend's fortune. A psychopath would try to get involved, whereas a normie would think "good for him, but he can do whatever he wants to do with his money".

How dare they show emotional support
Yeah, how dare they join forces with France, and not the terrorists? Shouldn't a big company like that remain neutral?

It's true that calling it "standing with" Paris is an overly romanticized way of putting it and most people don't mean anything special by it, it's what happens when you're trying to convey an emotional viewpoint.
That's highly unprofessional.

>Why show our unity and sympathy for other humans hurrrrr
You should take off the fedora before it fuses to your brain
You should put on your glasses and read the OP again, because you've missed the point. That's either due to A) You failed to use logic to make sense of it or B) You must've misread it

The quotation marks signified a quote, so I didn't word it differently.
I know what quotes mean. I was referring to how you wrote "most civilized people are with" Paris because I guess you didn't want to write "most civilized people stand with". They're the same thing.
And it's not even obviously implicit. This is why other people are upset that similarly victimized countries aren't getting the public support that France is, with other people on this forum concluding that no one really cares about those other countries.
Jesus kiddo christ oh god man Standing with France in this situation doesn't make sense. They're not at war. France was attacked, so you can't stand for France's side, because they've been attacked. They were neutral. Seriously? You're gonna go with that? People are gonna favour a country that was neutral in an attack vs some extremists. Yeah, people are showing support, which could be interpreted as them not caring about other countries seeing how they haven't showed much support then. Thing is, I can't answer that, because I don't know why people show France this level of support. I think it's an excuse to show anger at the extremists.

To make it seem SO GODDAMN TENSE
I imagine the job isn't easy. Try commentating a minecraft game of who can build the tallest tower in 30 seconds to a bunch of nerds at some gaming convention. Shit was funny to watch ironically, and I even applauded ironically.

I'm pretty sure most civilised people [stand] with Paris against the attacks, so why even bother? [...] There's no argument between the attackers and France, so why do you "Stand with Paris"? How do you stand with Paris?
OP just because you word it differently you can't fool me into believing you don't understand what they're talking about. As for the rest is this post really predicated on the idea that everyone obviously stands with Paris and so explicitly stating as much rather than relying on the silent implication is objectionable somehow?
The quotation marks signified a quote, so I didn't word it differently. I get that they want to support Paris, but "We stand with Paris" isn't the right thing to type. No, most people aren't that involved, and thus can't "stand with Paris". The thread is however assuming that most civilised people I'm pretty sure most civilised people are supporting Paris. It doesn't say that they're standing with them. Yeah, it's objectionable alright. If people were to scream and shout slavery is wrong all year long, or that meat is murder, then that'd be objectionable as well. It doesn't matter that you're right in thinking in a certain way, because it's blatantly clear what the opinion should be already, and thus you're contributing with nothing through your platitude.

"Are there other ways to look at this" is what I essentially stated with my reply. You probably should've said that, then.
Aside from bad grammar, my ambiguity, or indirectness is the largest factor to why my replies are unintelligible. I don't know why I keep doing it. I am strange in some ways when it comes to confronting people.

It's a selfish and inhumane way to think, I'd say. We feel, or we're supposed to feel, sympathy and empathy for a reason. We're social creatures by nature and wouldn't be where we are if every person only thought of themselves.
Nice arguments for humans, and emotions, but this thread doesn't mention humans or emotions directly.
It doesn't mention anything directly. I do that on purpose to bring about the most discussion possible. You're supposed to interpret the question in your own way and from a variety of different angles.
Let me quote you verbatim. Old. This is old news. Everybody already knows this. What was my reply doing? If anything, it was imposing a different way to see things. I could've started arguing how emotions are there for a reason, and it's not because we're inherently good. Emotions are there for a reason and we are good as a result. I instead chose to question Casper's way of thinking about the situation, or the OP. "There are other ways to look at this" is what I essentially stated with my reply.

The OP is a little confusing, are you referring to Danse or Valentine?
Because Valentine is easily the best companion so far.
Spoiler Danse is a synth? Motherfucker, put a spoiler tag in your reply.
No, I'm talking about the guy that "vouches for you at the entrance to the Railroad" the first time you get there.
Valentine and Danse don't do this, so I'm not sure what Danse has to do with this. I'm guessing your databse lists two synth companions, and thus you assumed I'm talking about either the one, or the other. Assuming you've played through the campaign, I'm talking about the guy that changes his face when he goes outside. He's a synth. what
be more vague

The only notion of irrationality is that it might one day affect you, but you wouldn't know because at the time it didn't affect you, and thus you completely ignored it.
