I think that you people want a mod who has no negative history, and is only a goodie-two-shoes who upholds the law. I obviously don't agree. None of the current mods are sparkling rays of perfect sunshine. We all have dirt. Mine is just more voluminous.
Perfection is in the eye of the beholder. It's easy to look good when you don't express yourself, and I think that the mods don't express themselves that much. Do you know what sucks? The mods choose other people who don't express themselves because of their bias towards people who resembles them. This is the true reason for why you won't become a mod. Kupo was discussing why you shouldn't become a mod, and Challenger just wants to attack your persona, or you, Verbatim. If it were up to me, I wouldn't choose you as a mod, because you'd be a boring mod. Many people can moderate, but not many can be a symbol that I admire.

I want to reply to the long reply Verbatim just made, but Challenger probably will, and two replies will probably be too much. w/e here's my short go at it.
Challenger said that you appease people when mod positions are being discussed, so what you've said about your behaviour overall doesn't hold as much merit as you'd like it to, but it still holds some. Challenger, you should address the fact that he defended his name quite a lot, even though it probably was seen as a thing moderators shouldn't do.
Challenger isn't putting the fact that you want to become a mod in the spotlight, just your behaviour around this.
Challenger, you owe him some concrete stuff on the accusation that he's acting nice. Anything really.
Verbatim, I don't think that Challenger dislikes you that much. If he does, then it's only enough to guide his attention to you, but not enough for him to want to troll you or w/e.

Sure, but they've brought up good points. Just because someone dislikes a person doesn't mean that their arguments are nullified. Except for a perhaps clouded judgement, their attention to you would be sharpened, because they'll need to pick up on all of your weaknesses, or things that they can use against you.

The moderation has been more strict in the past at times, particularly in Rocket's case this is what helped fry his ass to a nice golden-brown.
In one instance that I can recall, RC and some other user were joking around in a thread where the title/OP called RC out(at the time making threads calling out other users was generally forbidden). The other user got bannu'd by Rocket(maybe RC was given a warning, can't recall), at which point RC and maybe some other users complained about Rocket being "no fun allowed" and generally bad at his position. I'm sure there were other cases, but there was so much drama and idiocy on this site at the time I can't remember.
TBlocks was also in charge of the Sep7agon plug.dj room which a bunch of people hated on him for in there, can't really remember why. He was also upgraded from Monitor to mod for a while, I don't recall him enjoying it, and he didn't keep the position either.
My, my... How history obscures the details. Rocket and I were with Yutaka in the running to be mod when the Monitor role was phased out the first time.
Yeah, but he asked for why you guys didn't stay mods. Yu, despite being an insufferable weeb, was the only one that didn't earn the complete ire of the community.
Well I mean... complete ire is a bit of a stretch I would say...
He was just so passive that there was a small period where people said he was a bad mod, but nothing happened, and it sort of died of before it had life.
