Funny, since they seem to have forgotten what the PRIDE parades celebrate. They commemorate the Stonewall riots of 1969. In this, the mainly white male gay community erupted into a riot over justice.
The LB and T were added on later, as an inclusionary effort to unite the homosexual community.
So, this particular warrior is an idiot. White gay males march at the front of the parade because they were the ones who started it. Everyone else is just there to say "yeah, me too."
Its sad when a 30 something white guy, ie the devil, knows more about this than the teens and 20 somethings gays that post about it.
History is more than dates and politicians. Its the story of why the world has the shape it does.
That seems a bit unfair. People from every branch of "LGBT" have been there since the beginning. It just that the bulk of attendance has always been white gay males and crossdressers. Not saying that's good or bad, it's just how it went down.
I don't think its unfair at all. The parade isn't about anything beyond the Stonewall Riots.
What that particular SJW did was the equivalent of a Chicano Alliance member saying Mexicans are under represented in the MLK parades.
The parades now are more than just Stonewall now though. It a celebration of our history, the culture, the hardships we've faced. It's so much more than that now. I have my respects for Stonewall, but saying that's all it's about is extremely misguided.
The past shapes the present, the present shapes the future. That is the point of knowing your history. No matter what, the pioneers of the lifestyle equality movement (I can't think of a better way to describe it) started in Stonewall. That's what the parades have always meant. Hijacking them, making them for more (or less) than that is the worse thing you could do to the gay community. It destroys the monument to its founding as a community.

But I think it would be weird for a recently separated almost 40 year old to be meeting a 18 year old in Vegas to party...
