This isn't really all that new. It expands on an existing law that says when you have a restraining order against you (for fear of violence) that the sheriff takes your firearms for a period of time. All this does is tweak it a little so they don't need the actual DVRO.
Frankly, if you scare your family badly enough to send the sheriff, you probably are better off without your guns.

Every generation looks back to its childhood as the best. In reality, they're all pretty much equal. The only thing I feel badly for the Millennials is the Helicopter Parent phenomenon. Kids should be able to play outside by themselves with no supervision. That's how they learn independence. Too many of you will always be looking for the walls to box your lives in because your parents never showed you that you don't need them.

So, a few actors are boycotting the Oscars this year, because there are too few blacks being nominated for an award.
Now, is this a problem with the Academy for not picking blacks? Or might it be that the studios don't make many black films or cast many black actors?
Finally, should there be something like Affirmative Action when considering films or actors for awards?
