Seriously. An occasional sequel is OK. When the original was awesome and you have a bigger story to tell. But all that seems to be made now is reboots and unnecessary sequels. We don't need all this. We don't want it. You guys want to get a return on your investment. I get that. So you keep to "safe" projects. But the safe path led to mediocrity. And that's what most movies have been. Mediocre.
We don't want a new vision of Star Trek or Spider Man. We want NEW movies that replace those as favorites. New characters and new stories. Take a risk. Blaze a new trail. Sometimes you will fail. Hell, one look at Fant4stic shows that you can fail on your safe bets.
Hollywood has shown that the potential for creativity is there. Rediscover it and show us, your paying customers, that you can do it.

That's kind of a trend lately, so it may be popular at the time but I doubt it'll turn into the classic that the original is.
It's a reboot. If they cast all Academy Award winning comedic actors and threw a billion dollars at the production, it would still fall flat. In all seriousness, I really want Hollywood to start doing original shit again. Stop rebooting, making sequels and bringing to life our favorite cartoons and comics. What's sad is that everyone is still a 90's kid. You don't have to have seen the original cartoon. Just watch the live action adaptation of it. You're all 90's kids now. Hopefully someone will die in whatever department that chooses which movies get made and the person will make at least one studio come up with some original shit.

I don't think this is feminist empowerment or whatever. It looks like female led comedies are in, and they are going for that demographic. If they tried to make it a dark and gritty Ghostbusters, then yeah.
Also, the entire original cast, minus Ramis (he's dead) are slated to appear in it.
My worry is that this is the wrong type of franchise for the demographic. Maybe they'll prove me wrong, but female fart humor and ghosts don't really mix... But I've been wrong before.
