As long as it's closed to all but law enforcement, I see no issue with one.
Illegal weapons start legal somewhere. If we want to know where they're leaking in, we have to know where the holes are. Police need to know the chain of custody between factory and theft/sale.
I don't think a public registry is a good idea, but a private one for ATF/FBI and local law enforcement? That's a good idea.

In the USA, most out and out racists claim to be Christian. Many Christians deny evolution because it goes against the literal word of the Bible. So, why do American racists claim black people aren't as evolved as whites? If they are Christian, as many claim, then wouldn't they see all people, regardless of skin color, as God's children? Good for you. Glad you had a release. THC, in whatever form, really isn't for me. I'm at a point where my stress is what drives me. A state where literally everything is do or die. While it takes its toll... I find the constant tension liberating. For the first time in too long, I know what I need to do and what my purpose is.
Frankly, I miss being able to let it all go. But we all move to different drummers.

I was talking about a single sequel, as opposed to pointless branching movies that have little to do with the original itself. At that point the directer might as well just make their own thing.
It's a franchise based on character development and story. Like I said, it's how we are trsted in the face of the inexplicable. I love this concept. If Abrams does it right, having Cloverfield in the name will have a badge of quality to it. The Twilight Zone and Outer Limits were great examples of this. Give lesser known story writers a way to tell a story and get big brand recognition for it. Hopefully other big name producers will take note and replicate this.
