Jono's got a point. I can remember my dad decking my mother upside the head and that happened when I was two.

I also remember getting pulled through the bushes by a dog when I was three.

Depending on whether the memory is traumatic or just really fun the wee little bugger might remember it for a long while to come.

So I plan on making it a good one. I've been building it up for a week. He knows what rides he wants to go on and what snacks and toys he wants. It's gonna be fun.

Hell, we're starting out at IHOP with his favorite breakfast.

I've never really given it any thought before. But I did, just now. Of the members here you're part of the small number of people who have kids. The only others are AngryBrute and Chakas. I certainly haven't had kids. And I know I won't ever get the chance to have them.

But in some measure I know a little bit about what being a dad is like. Among all the members of my family, in case of something bad happening, I am the next legal guardian over my little niece.  And I was chosen for good reason. If she didn't have a dad already, I'd be there to fill the role.

You do something for me charlie. Don't make just that trip a good one. Make the wee little bugger's life a good one.  Of all the kids out there who get shit parents and a shit life... do your absolute best for him, for me.

Not for you, but for him, this guides my every action.  I have lhe luxury of knowing who I live for.  My children may not be biologically mine, but they are my sons. He will get fun for him. Bo one else.

The Flood / Re: Transgenderism Is A Mental Disease
« on: March 17, 2016, 01:19:10 PM »
First, you're confusing Gender with Sex. Sex is the biology you were born with, gender is a social construct on how you are supposed to behave as on sex or the other.

For example, there is no reason why men aren't supposed to wear pink, or dresses.  Or pink dresses. Biologically speaking, our bodies are indifferent to how we dress, so ling as it's appropriate for the weather. So why are something as simple as clothes sex specific. The answer is they are not. Types of clothes have been linked to gender by societal norms.

Now, there is a physical difference in many transgendered people. When autopsies are done, there is a difference in the physical structure of the brain. M to F transgendered are found to have the type of brain that is normally found in females. Believe it or not, men and women's brains are wired and structured differently.

Now, not all transgendered have this. It is believed that there are indeed different types of transgendered. There could be ones stemming from hormonal imbalances, mental trauma or biological differences. This is why there is a screening process in place to determine who can have the reassignment surgery and who can not.

It's a new field tgat is being studied, but not for long enough. Much of the data is still missing.

But people are suffering from this. Why shame them by saying they are defective or weak when there is an option that doesn't effect you and makes them feel better? Do you have ANY data showing regret after having the surgery? Do you have anything other than shaming them to say why it shouldn't be done?

Or do you just find the thought icky and don't want it in "your" society? If it's this, get over yourself. You aren't that important.

Serious / Re: Who is the actual populist candidate?
« on: March 16, 2016, 04:43:08 PM »
How are you guys saying Trump is a populist?

Because he is. Or, at least his campaign is a populist campaign. Whether or not he personally is remains to be seen. Both he and Sanders technically are. Just different demographics. I guess Sanders should be classified as Neo-Populism since he fits the end result, but not the classical ideology.

Serious / Who is the actual populist candidate?
« on: March 16, 2016, 02:18:40 PM »
Is it Sanders or Trump?

Both have similar campaigns in that they are aiming their message at the everyday man. Trump's message is to the working class that they have had their future stolen and he will restore it. Sanders is aimed at the Gen Y'ers and Millennials that it was their future that was stolen and he wants to give it back.

But which one is the actual populist?
