From a person who been bullied from grade 2 to grade 12 I can tell you soldiers go  threw alot worse. Veterans days should stay the way it is.

I was told at my high school graduation from the 4 kids who bullied me this:

" Hey  we would all like to say were sorry for what we put you threw.  What we did was terrible and we ask for you to forgive us.  Were amazed you did not be one of those kids who snap and shoot up the school.

If we're getting serious about this, I would agree that there IS a certain narcissism with vets that they think PTSD is theirs alone. You know who has the worst PTSD in intensity and numbers? Battered spouses. Next? Kids in abusive households. Some of the kids never recover.

Yet you see vets acting like it's their thing. The media (especially social media) enables this mentality. You read about a housewife killing herself after fifteen years of her husband beating her, and everyone runs out to say that only a vet can have PTSD, and she was just weak. 

Kids being bullied does cause PTSD, and making it out as a veteran only thing invalidates their suffering. It tells them that they don't matter.

I'm a vet. I've had this very argument with other vets. Very few have the courage to admit it isn't a special club that you have to wear a uniform in a combat zone to enter. PTSD is a fucked up condition that no one should have to endure alone.
