The Flood / Re: From Brexit to Regrexit
« on: June 27, 2016, 08:46:53 AM »
The Brexit movement came from extreme political rhetoric.
No it didn't.

Where the fuck are you getting this from? Extremist parties in Britain are surprisingly unsuccessful, and have been since WWII. No, UKIP is not an extremist party.

Rhetoric, not party.

Question: leading up to the vote, what were the reasons why the Leavers said it was needed?

Okay. Now we have to wait a little under a year.

Cersei is in hot water with her brother

Arya is crossing names off her list

Jon is king of the north and Sansa is jelly

Dany's on her way

Sam's discovered the Internet

The Night King is coming

Rickon has all this magic and no clue how to use it, and the Uncle is a white walker who kept his soul

Jon is the legitimate king of everything

So... The chess pieces are almost in place. One or two more moves and we finally get the battle we've waited 6 years for

Vocal minority, even if that minority is only off by 4%.

Under the logic of 4% not being a big enough gap, should we elect our presidents only if they meet a 10% gap vote?

The US uses the electoral college. A gap between popular vote and electoral vote is fairly common.

Let's face it, popular vote is dangerous

The one where a young hero is in a village that gets destroyed by a bug bad guy. He goes out into the world to train to become strong enough to defeat the big baddy, meeting a few new friends along the way. Eventually he hets strong enough to do it and attacks the big baddie. His friends die one by one in the battle, each giving him insight on a faral flaw within himself. These insights help him win the battle. Once done, he realizes that he's in a bigger world and strikes off to be even stronger.

You know, that one.

But is 2% enough of a margin for such a drastic decision? 2% of just over 17 million voters. I would agree if the UK had a 10%+ margin. 2% is such a tiny margin. Plus, the other countries compromising the UK voted to stay. The 2% was in Britain.
But is it fair to the 52% to just maintain the status quo against their wishes?

It's clear something must be done. Fully half of the country wants change. The problem is the other half doesn't want this change. Probably the best thing is redefining the relationship between the UK and the EU.

This is why I am not a fan of popular vote when it comes to national issues. 340,000 voters are all that separates the stay and go parties

I guess they could shorten your legs and arms. Your spine remains the same, because they can't reconnect nerves yet
ughh that would look even worse, the proportions would be so off

couldn't they just compress your spine in some way, not actually remove bones from it?

Nope. It needs to stay relatively straight

I just hope this serves as the object lesson for us in the states about extreme political rhetoric.
What's the lesson: it doesn't matter what you want, you're not going to get it anyway?

The Brexit movement came from extreme political rhetoric. Now what happens if Article 50 gets enacted will mean dire consequences for the UK. It's conceivable that by this time next year the UK is just Britain.

Your uncle Josephus the Vulgar died, leaving you control of his 500,000 strong army of War Kittens. They are equipped to be an Army, Navy and Air Force. There is also a spy arm, and special operations division for wetwork.

Now, what do you do?

4 Taco Bell bean burritos, a dozen deviled eggs, a big tray of buffalo wings, a big bowl of spicy chili all washed down with a six pack of Pabst.

They say you crap yourself when you die. If the fuckers are gonna kill me, I'm leaving a mess behind to remember me by. They killed me, but they had to clean my very messy final crap up

When you use it:

25% chance of a hooker appearing in front of you willing to do whatever your first three requests are. Additional "tricks" are $20 a piece.

25% chance of a quarter bag of good weed

25% chance of a awesome party, in your honor, appearing in the next room you go in.

10% chance of an 8 ball of coke

10% chance of two pornstars appearing in your room to give you the best night of your life

1% chance of 2 million dollars

1% chance of an angry baby momma demanding child support appearing

1% chance a night in New York paid for and escorted by an A-list celebrity of your choice

1% chance of HIV

.05% chance of an angry boyfriend/girlfriend beating your ass on TMZ for screwing their significant other.

.05% chance nothing happens

Do you use it, or do you give it to another user.  Specify who.
