The Flood / Re: Liberal tears for sale
« on: November 09, 2016, 01:08:56 AM »
if you dont mourn the fact that our nation is so deplorable and misogynistic that it elects a monster like trump, youre part of the problem

Oh, I am. I was a history major in college. I know exactly what this night means. We aren't at the pinnacle of our empire. We're at it's collapse.

Well at least the meme economy gets a boost if nothing else

Here's hoping the Dow and S&P futures markets aren't indicative of the actual market reaction

Yeah.

Poll data is showing that black men aren't showing up to vote. It's happening in every battleground state. Less than 30% of what Obama got last go

The Flood / If you're over 18, who did you vote for?
« on: November 08, 2016, 08:08:25 PM »
Voted for Johnson.

Why? I live in CA, so the state's going to Hillary no matter who I voted for. I want 3 parties next go around.

Otherwise I voted solidly D ticket. Yes on legalizing pot. No on the $2 a pack tax on cigarettes.

You?

The Flood / America is NOT the best country in the world
« on: November 07, 2016, 10:23:19 PM »
It's NOT the greatest country in the world, professor. That's my answer.

Yes

Fine. The NEA is a loser. Yeah, it accounts for a penny out of our paycheck, but he gets to hit you with it any time he wants. It doesn't cost money, it costs votes; it costs airtime, column inches. You know why people don't like liberals? Because they lose. If liberals are so fucking smart, how come they lose so goddamn always?

And with a straight face, you're gonna tell students that America's so star-spangled awesome, that we're the only ones in the world who have freedom? Canada has freedom, Japan has freedom, the UK, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Australia, Belgium has freedom. [laughs] So 207 sovereign states in the world, like 180 of them have freedom.

And yeah, you, sorority girl. Just in case you accidentally wander into a voting booth one day, there's some things you should know, and one of them is, there's absolutely no evidence to support the statement that we're the greatest country in the world. We're 7th in literacy, 27th in math, 22nd in science, 49th in life expectancy, 178th in infant mortality, 3rd in median household income, number 4 in labor force, and number 4 in exports. We lead the world in only 3 categories: number of incarcerated citizens per capita, number of adults who believe angels are real, and defense spending, where we spend more than the next 26 countries combined. 25 of whom are allies. Now, none of this is the fault of a 20 year old college student. But you, nonetheless, are without a doubt a member of the worst, period, generation, period, ever, period, so when you ask, "What makes us the greatest country in the world?" I dunno know what the fuck you're talking about! Yosemite? [Pause] It sure used to be. We stood up for what was right. We fought for moral reasons, we passed laws, struck down laws for moral reasons, we waged wars on poverty, not poor people. We sacrificed, we cared about our neighbors. We put our money where our mouths were, and we never beat our chest. We built great big things, made ungodly technological advances, explored the universe, cured diseases, and we cultivated the world's greatest artists and the world's greatest economy. We reached for the stars, acted like men. We aspired to intelligence, we didn't belittle it, it didn't make us feel inferior. We didn't identify ourselves by who we voted for in our last election, and we didn't [sighs] we didn't scare so easy...Huh. We were able to be all these things, and to do all these things, because we were informed. By great men, men who were revered. First step in solving any problem is recognizing there is one. America is not the greatest country in the world anymore.

Enough?

It's the sum of the transactions. Neither should be president. That's why she's the lesser of two evils. They're both bad choices. When it comes down to it, Trump is more unethical because he brags about his transgressions. He swindles people for money or dodges his taxes, he sees it as signs of his brilliance. He thinks sexual assault is alright because he's rich and famous. At least Hillary knows what she's doing is wrong. That's why she's trying to hide it.

Neither is the good choice, just less bad

Edit: I just looked, the peanut sauce is made with hoisin. It's what makes it watery.

Do you sprinkle crushed peanuts on top?

Yes. It's crushed peanuts with hoisin and chopped peanuts on top

The shrimp gives it nice bits of crunch

But it's dry as fuck and will stick to your throat if ou take too big of a bite

Like I said, use the peanut sauce

What the fuck is peanut sauce

San Diego (where I live) is one of three relocation cities for the Vietnamese after the war. Upside? Great Vietnamese food.

Traditionally the spring rolls are served with a peanut paste. Like a watery peanut butter.

I usually get two with a bowl of phó

You talking about hoisin sauce?

No. this is a paste made from peanuts.
