Another example: When I was doing the drone software stuff, I would try to place these young guys in at established companies. The work wasn't sexy. We're talking programming sensors and phased gate arrays. The boomers at the companies would pass on the younger guys as too inexperienced, and only take older guys, EVEN WHEN THE YOUNGER GUY WAS THE BETTER PROGRAMMER. I lost track of how many should be retirees I placed to do what one of you guys should be doing.
That fucked you two ways. It denied you the job then, and fucked you by not allowing you to network with the guys who would get you the next job.

My last sales manager was in his late 60's. he had no intention of retiring any time soon. All he would do is talk about how much better they sold in the late 80's and 90's. he doesn't even get how email works. Let alone email marketing. We were getting a .05% hit on our campaign and he actually said it should be upwards of 10% "if we did it right."
It's shit like this that makes me want to give up. Meanwhile in minimum wage land they want me to work three times as hard for a 50¢ raise.
