It depends more on how often the members are clicking things and drawing resources from the database.
I fixed the issue of the max_questions by adding some more database users to spread the load, so on that end there shouldn't be an issue. If it happens again I can add a few more users.
The only problem I see happening is with the bandwidth. I supposedly have unrestricted bandwidth for my hosting package, but there's this undefined line in the sand called "normal use" that they can get you with if you cross it and start "affecting other users on the server." File sharing sites and the like usually get hit with this, but there's no mention of internet forums.
So... it's possible that we could get throttled down, but I am not sure how likely it is. If it does happen, we may have to jump hosts or consider some serious bandwidth-saving options.
Like B.Old?
Not sure what you mean.
Notifications would probably be the first to go, as they suck a fair amount of resources, followed by uploaded avatars.
I mean the old Bungie. Because it, I believe had a file-sharing system. Could be wrong, though.
Oh, no, I meant like megaupload or the multitude of other sites that let you upload a file for free for others to download. That type of site was used in the example of things that often exceed the "normal use" ceiling. I don't think we have that type of traffic to worry about it, but then again I also can't predict how big the community will grow.

I am disappointed at the lack of Crouton on that list.
The salad ingredient list is tomorrow. I'll put you down for it.

Locked, as per Mr Psychologist's request.

Apparently this forum has 9 guests, but why is this allowed? And can they see everything?
Details needed basically
They can browse the forum and see profiles, but they can't interact with the forum at all until registering. To be honest, I was never a fan of locking out a forum from guests completely.

It's about time you showed up.
How do you have a custom title?
Uh if you mean the "Respected Posting Spree" that's based off of a combination of Karma and Post count The prefix = what users rate your karma, so negative points equal "Bad" as your prefix, positive points equal "Respected" as your prefix. You won't see this prefix until 25 posts (keeps someone from making multiple fake accounts and spamming someone with "-1" karma points.
The rest equals post count, so far it's 1. Newbie 2. Member 3. Posting Spree
Cheat hasn't released full details, the ranking system is supposedly much deeper than just post count.
Ah, gotcha, that's awesome. The bars should change colors so we can get our blue hats again!
Also, how does the Karma thing work? Because I can't find any way to like/dislike posts.
They do. You can. Trust editing unlocks when you become a member.

How much control do you have over the site? Like complete access to the HTML stuff?
I can access everything. I feel like the empty space on both sides of the page could be done away with. Also, if it's possible to have a sub-forum of the Flood for Religious/Political discussion, that would be superb.
The empty space stays for now. Stretching he body wrapper is not very nice looking with this site design. The serious discussion forum will be made soonish (after I put in Likes).

Aren't we going to need more than two mods?
We will see. 4 staff members seems like a good start, but if we need more, then more will be added.

Sure, why not would make the place more lively.
I'll make a topic on Bnet tonight once I fix a few issues (like top nav on mobile).

That is awesome that you are making a game. Are you doing it as a project for a college course or simply because you want to do it and learn from the experience?
Nah, just to screw around, have fun.
That's still an awesome way to learn and get better at coding.

I think I got up to Legendary Member at some point, but it may have gone back to Heroic after I got banned.

I've seen a few people with title of bad member. Is that given out especially by mods or automatic for certain criteria?
It's automatic and means that you've dipped a bit into the negative in Trust. It has no effect on posting in the forum, though; it's strictly cosmetic.

A lot of my opinions regarding various conspiracy theories are quite controversial.
Yeah, like your whole plane idiocy that has zero proof. Top lel
Actually there was some proof to support that theory. I also never stated it was fact, and said that I did not believe it. I simply made a thread discussing the possibility of it. Disregarding things before doing any sort of research on it yourself is honestly quite foolish.
I've watched a bunch of conspiracy documentaries about 9/11. I'll admit, some of the stuff they present is interesting.

It's a closer race than I would have expected.
Going to offer any hints, or just be elusive?
There's only one person without any votes. Nobody has a sizable lead.

Is Game of Thrones actually worth getting into? I have never been a huge fan of the medieval genre, I like fantasy and sci-fi type stuff more. If it is on Netflix I may check out the first season.
I hate medieval stuff, but I found it surprisingly addictive. There are way too many sex scenes in there, though. After a while it seems like they're just doing it to show off their ability to do so.
Pretty much.

You really shouldn't start fighting here. Just saying, it wouldn't turn out good for anyone.
Sorry for having a disagreement on a discussion forum. Won't happen again.
Disagreements are great, but calling people names, and more specifically telling someone to fuck off, is not the way to go.
What, we can't swear here anymore? Christ, I didn't know you were so sensitive.

Give it time gootsby, we only got 2 guys on the "webteam"
Focnr's more of a graphics kind of guy, so I do most the heavy lifting with the code.

Yeah you could go through my post history and find that I only spammed 2 GIF threads, which only accounted for 100 or so of my posts. And posting GIFs in a GIF thread is technically pertaining to the topic and not considered spam. I don't strive for this post count. I was trying to keep that place alive with all my posts, the same thing here.
As long as you are not spamming and have legitimate posts then I do not care. I just have experience on multiple different boards where post counts are tracked, and people treat that as some way of trying to be better than other users. I never stated that you post spam or were going to, all I said in the other thread you made about it was to not treat it like a race.
Post count is the low man on the totem pole when it comes to ranking up, anyway. Sure, it'll get you up to Posting Spree and beyond, but it won't help with prefixes and it won't change your userbar. Posting constructively does that. Not that I'm trying to chastise anyone. I'm just clarifying a few things.

How does this trust system work and how do I do it?
On everyone's profile pic there is a "+1 trust" and "-1 trust" button.
I don't see it...
You won't until you have a non-specific number of posts. You'll get there soon.

Wouldn't it be more convenient to put this stuff in your signature? I should probably put in a field for this stuff in the profile...
Anyway, I'm Cheatlancer everywhere (but here, it seems).
