Coupled with that are the hurt feelings and grudges that live on after Anarchy ends. In theory, asking you all to compartmentalize your Anarchy experience from your Sep7agon experience worked, but in practice, the more vocal and naughty members carry over some of that into both on and off-site places.

You could randomize usernames and avatars, giving all posters a pseudonym (or assign them an actual user's profile settings to be forced to post as someone else), or make all posting anonymous. You could still attack other members, but at least then rivalries wouldn't be so bad. That would lend itself further to separating Anarchy from the rest of the forum.

Population can't sustain private groups. You'll just be hiding content from potential members.
Besides Skype chat groups are already filling that role. Can't see myself wanting a private group over a private chat I already have.
