Why can't we have all of the custom nameplates that were created?

Lack of time. About half of these I will need to go in and tweak to make them look right with the colored user bars. Then I have to add them to the code.

You saw how many there were in the other poll; this way there's not such a flood of nameplates I need to work on.

If you do not want this many nameplates because it takes you a lot of time to code them into the website, why would you remove the ones that are already there?

Fairness. And it takes like a second to disable one that's already there.

That's not entirely how it works. It doesn't just rely on upvotes and downvotes.

The system is supposed to be designed to give people a little something for remaining active as well as being a good member. Although, I actually believe it's still too easy to reach higher ranks. Mythic should take a pretty long time to get. Hell even Legendary should take a pretty long time to get.

Custom nameplates was an idea Cheat had for the highest ranked members.

The spread for the ratings is actually pretty spot on, but I do agree that the higher ones (Mythic and the yet-to-be revealed rating) should take a while to reach. That'll probably be tweaked.

Why can't we just make our own nameplates and custom titles? The whole mythic thing is based on how popular you are. Since its other people that have to up or downvote you to get to mythic in the first place. I just don't think it's fair.

There are quite a few different "custom" things that can be spread out among several benchmarks. Right now all of them are depending on the last trust rating, but it wouldn't be crazy to let a post-count rank unlock some of that as well.

Here's what I have planned for custom options (a la coup):

• Nameplates
• Custom title
• User bar backgrounds
• User bar borders
• Post text color

Some of those will bind to Trust ratings, others to post count, and maybe even one will go to time online. I understand your want of these things now, to all users upon registration, but having them unlockable promotes activity, which leads to conversation and a not-dead forum.

I'm hoping all these custom options don't turn the place into a rainbow forum.
If everyone has different bar colours, border colours, text colours and all the rest, this place would be uglier than b.lind ever was.

Hence the unlockable nature of them to try to hold back the #swage that I know some are wanting to unleash.

You said that high ranking users would also get custom plates?
I assume that would be the next rank after mythic then?

Right now, only custom titles are coded into the last trust title. As soon as a member hits it, if they have a custom title entered, it will display instead of their "official" one. Nameplates are next on the "custom" list, but there's no ETA on them.
