Welcome to the new generation--of microtransactions!!!

Had to do it! Sorry. Assassins Creed Untiy is... Buggy to say the least. I am playing on the PS4, and I am noticing considerable frame rate drops in large crowds, and when on tops of some buildings. NPC's can clip into eachother, or into you if you jump right on top of them, and another bug is with its free running up and down buildings.

Sometimes it can totally SKIP frames when leaping from one spot to another, you will start the jump and then magically appear on the other side... For God sake Ubisoft! They are seriously on the fast tack to becoming an embodiment of EA with all of this crap. And the Micro-transactions are only digging that hole deeper and deeper.

The transactions are pretty much like the ones you see in mobile games. You buy money with real money for fake crap that you don't need. It begs the question--did Ubisoft do something to the progression? I mean, if you have this diseased things in the game, whats to make me not believe that they slowed down progression late game? They said that you don't have to use them, but I also don't have to use this real money to buy their game...

It makes me wonder, what the actual F*** is wrong with these people this year? They have been on a role with running their unfiltered mouths, and now shipping hollow games. Not to say this this game is bad in a general POV. Far from it!

I am actually enjoying the game, I am digging these extensive customization options and the overall feel like the game is a lite RPG. Animations look so flipping good, as does the entirety of Paris. So much detail was put in to blow our minds, and it does in MANY cases!

The combat too has seen a nice change. It requires more strategy, and less counter and execute to win.

"But Brute, does it feel cinematic?"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! Hell no! GAMES ARE NOT MOVIES!!!! I am sick to death of this BS excuse to handicap a game to make it feel like a movie. IT DOES NOTHING TO ENHANCE CRAP! Making the game more enjoyable and immerive, is left up to the visuals and sounds, make those look and run great and you got me! Give me a good frame rate without lying to me face!

If it cant go higher because of all of the eye candy, then fine. But don't lie to us about it, we are not stupid...

Ubisoft has made the same game for years and someone don't know how to make their games. It's hilarious in a cruel way.

These first impressions of the game are so raw that make dated raw fish smell nice.

I don't see what's so bad about micro-transactions. Not like you have to do it in order to get a specific weapon or they purposely left out parts of the game so you would have to buy it. Plus you're not being forced to either. I don't do them, but there's people out there who have nothing better to spend and would like a cool piece of equipment

Ubisoft has acknowledge performance issues and are planning an update to fix the problem. I think Ubisoft was trying to toot their horn by placing almost a thousand (what it feels like) NPCs at the screen but it kinda bit them in the back. I applaud them for trying and pushing the limits of what can appear but they could have done it a bit better. However, the large crowds make Paris feel alive and gives the player a sense of immolation

Well in regards to the microtransactions. What was to stop them from slowing progression late game? You see it in many games that have these, microtransactions are a mobile game thing. They do not belong in a $60 AAA release.

I've heard AC:Unity does that to a lot of people.

The angel agreed to trade a set of white wings for the head of another demon. Overjoyed, the demon killed one of his own and plucked the head right off its still-warm body.

The angel then led the demon to heaven, where he underwent centuries of the cruelest tortures imaginable. Finally, the pain was so great that he lost consciousness - at which point his dark wings turned the promised shade of white.

They do belong, but in a way that makes it worth to pay the additional money to acquire them. What happens, however, is that publishers haven't caught up to the fact that implementing such a system, design, and so forth takes time and assets from more valuable things for the little time given to release a title.

Ubisoft has put its heart on releasing an Assassin's Creed title per year, and that very fact means that each installment of the game will not be as successful as the previous. Over time, the games will desaturate due to the very restrictions time-wise of a few studios having to meet the deadline, and use a handful of features at best to sell the game as a "fresh" experience.

That's a strategy that manages to sway up sales, and with some clever maneuvers to keep a certain quality, and image to receive some high review scores, ratings with a major focus on selling certain particular aspects over the bigger image of what the game itself is.

In turn this makes previews, review websites distrustful due to them having access to incomplete versions, and slap a number on a game's cover (for the better, or worse) has heavy implications on people's future employment in the game industry.

So, do micro transactions belong in AAA titles? They certainly do, but that is valid as long the content you pay the price for is worthwhile, and the existing game offers a certain length, and quality of content to warrant further, genuine interest into investing more in the same title.

A good example of this is what Valve does through the Steam Workshop with Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is selling the accepted items into the store, and the profits are split with the developer. That makes micro transactions, not only interesting, but also directly involve the community's interest. On top of that, they also get to choose what is correct for the game's setting, both in quality and style.
